Mr. Maus is a Florida native practicing law in South Florida since 1993. He currently limits his practice to serious injury and accident claims, including car accidents, workers compensation, cruise ship accidents and slip and fall claims; and homeowner property damage claims. Mr. Maus also represents businesses in South Florida in contract negotiations and commercial litigation.

Mr. Maus began his career at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office as a Felony Trial Prosecutor. In his last year as a Prosecutor, he obtained guilty verdicts in 20 of his last 21 jury trials. Prior to opening his own firm, he worked for a large multi-state litigation firm based in Miami, specializing in commercial litigation, liability defense, EEOC, longshore and workers compensation defense, automobile warranty litigation and administrative hearings.
Mr. Maus has tried over 60 jury trials to verdict and has litigated claims in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as, Collier and Lee counties on the west coast. Mr. Maus has successfully argued before the 3rd District Court of Appeals, The United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is currently admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle District of Florida, and all Florida State Courts. Reported cases: Vasaly v. Kluger, Peretz, Kaplan and Berlin, P.A., 707 So.2d 427 (Fla. 3rd DCA 1998) and Lukowsky v. Hauser and Metsch, P.A., 677 So. 2d 1383 (Fla. 3rd DCA 1996).
Mr. Maus previously served as the Mayor of the City of Oakland Park, and also served for three years on the City Commission. Mr. Maus recently completed a two year term on the Broward County Charter Review Committee, having been appointed by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. He previously served on the Broward County Planning Council and the County’s Resource Recovery Board. He is the former President of The Hundred Club of Broward County, a non-profit group that supports the families of police officers and firefighters killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. He is the Vice Chairman of the St. Anthony School Advisory Board, and is a member of the St. Anthony Foundation for Education. He is a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, and has sat on numerous committees for the Broward County Bar Association.
