We have to start off by saying the court system is not fair when it comes to dead beat parents. Child services took my children from their mother for various warranted reasons (drugs, abuse, neglect), things that we didnt even know they were going through because they we to scared to tell anyone. We were appointed a court appointed attorney which was horrible and after my first experience with my last lawyer we were very skeptical about hiring a new lawyer. Mara came recommended to us through a friend and I have to say it was the best choice we've made in this regard over the last 11 years. During this whole process of the court and child services giving their mother chance after chance to reunify, making us feel like we did something wrong, and forcing the kids to talk and see their mother when they didnt want to Mara stayed positive. She was there anytime we had a question, needed a meeting, or advice during this 2 year process. We are grateful to say that finally we have full custody, the kids have completed their therapy, and they are happy and doing well in school.

She was also present at the final hearing to guide me through the court process.

I hired Mara Shaughnessy for my foreclosure modification case and was extremely satisfied with her and her staff's handling of my case. She had to file motions of Continuance over and over again while waiting on the bank to process my modification since each new court date( for summary judgment ) would come up without the bank returning an answer on the modification. It was VERY stressful waiting but Ms Shaughnessy really gave me a lot of confidence because of the way she was handling the case and the knowledge she had of the ins and outs. She took the worry away. And the key was that her and her staff were very prompt proactive and responsive. If I ever had a question I never had to follow up to get an answer. Some questions I didn't have to ask because they would send me an email before I got around to contacting the firm weeks out from an upcoming court date. She was frequently in contact with the banks attorneys which made things sooo much easier. I was kept in the loop as was copied in all pertinent emails wether involving the court or the banks attorneys. Great professionalism and great customer service that you just don't get these days. I would confidently recommend and refer this law office to ANYONE needing the types of service they provide. Oh and by the way, I initially shopped around and their rates were far from adding insult to injury like a few of the other consultations elsewhere did. I truly wish them all the best!!
