I have been involved in the representation of the injured since becoming a member of the Florida Bar in 1975 after completing my undergraduate degree at the Ohio State University and my law degree at the University of Miami in Coral Gables. After law school I became a member of a large defense trial firm in Ft. Lauderdale where I successfully defended the City of Ft. Lauderdale in my first jury trial only six weeks after passing the Bar. In 1981, I opened my own firm in Fort Lauderdale, restricting my trial practice to the representation of individuals injured by the negligence of others. I have represented thousands of individuals in settlement negotiations and trials. I have successfully represented injured people in trials all over the State of Florida. I have achieved verdicts in excess of one million dollars in the area of automobile accidents, wrongful death, products liability, trucking accidents, medical negligence, motorcycle accidents and nursing home abuse. I am a member of the American Justice Association, the Florida Justice Association, and the Federal, Florida and Broward County Bar Associations. In addition, I was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocacy, an elite organization of 6,400 trial attorneys, both Plaintiff and Defense, from across the United States who are advocates for the maintenance of the jury system. I have a reputation in the legal community and insurance industry as being an excellent, fair and ethical advocate on behalf of my clients. This is reflected by my rating in the peer review rating performed by Martindale-Hubbell where for over 20 years I have received the highest rating in legal skills and ethical conduct, the rating of AV. I understand that not every case should go to trial but every case deserves and gets vigorous representation in my office. I am experienced in trying those cases which require a jury to properly compensate my clients.
