Ashby grew up around his family's aviation management company. He is a member of Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, International Air and Transportation Safety Bar Association, and Lawyer Pilots Bar Association. He is currently working on his airman certificates. This aviation experience allows him to truly relate with his aviation clients and allows him to analyze the issues with an accurate evaluation and allows him to frame complex aviation issues in a way that the judge and jury can easily understand.Ashby was a lead trial attoreny at an insurance defense firm in Daytona Beach, Fl. There he represented defendants in claims for persona injury, wrongful death arising out of aviation and motor vehcile accidents. Ashby was a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. As an Assistant State Attorney in St. Johns County, he routinely handled conflict and Governor Assignment cases while maintaining his assigned docket. His experience allowed him to accumulate extensive trial experience and he was awarded the 2013 Trial Top Gun for the Seventh Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office in 2013.
Ashby graduated Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida in 2010. During law school he clerked for a construction law firm and was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Harmon Drew in the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Ashby worked for for a law firm in St. Augustine, Florida as a legal intern and first year assoicate prior to becoming an assitant state attoreny. There he handled a range of issues, but primarily handled construction and contract litigation and contract drafting. Ashby drafted contracts and advised clients on contracts for the purchase and sale of aircraft ranging from a $100,000 Decathlon to multi-million dollar Citation jets.Ashby attended undergraduate school at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches, LA, where he obtained a B.S. in business admistration and competed in College Rodeos.
