Petitioner is the state agency charged with regulating the practice of electrical contracting pursuant to Section 20.165, Florida Statutes, and Chapters 455 and 489, Florida Statutes, and the rules promulgated thereto. 2. At all times material hereto, Respondent was not duly licensed as an electrical Contractor by the Florida Electrical Contractor’s Licensing Board. 3. The Department of Business ‘and Professional Regulation. has jurisdiction over the unlicensed practice of electrical contracting pursuant to. Section 455.228(1), Florida Statutes, including the authority to impose a fine of up to $5,000.00 per UW WW incident for any violation of Chapter 489, Florida Statutes. 4. Respondent's last known address is 5750 NE 27 Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33308. 5. On or about May 10, 1997, Respondent contracted with BETTY COBB (hereinafter “COBB”) to perform renovation and electrical work of the type requiring certification or registration under Chapter 489, Florida Statutes. 6. The contracted project was located at COBB’S residence, 1600 SW 15%* Avenue, # 614, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the contracted price was $11,900.00. 7. Based on the foregoing, the Respondent violated Chapter 489.531(1) (a) Florida Statutes, (1997), by engaging in the business or acting in the capacity of an electrical contractor without being duly registered or certified or having a certificate of authority. WHEREFORE, Petitioner respectfully requests the entry of an Order imposing one or more of the following penalties: impose an administrative fine not to exceed $5,000.00 per violation, impose any or all penalties delineated within Section 455.228(1), Florida Statutes, and/or any other relief that is authorized pursuant to Chapters 489, 455, Florida Statutes, and/or the rules promulgated thereunder. \n SIGNED cnisQg™ day of FILED Department of Business and Professional Regulation AGENCY CLERK Chief Attorney | i CLERK Sonos 2.
