Would an injury sustained during an afternoon break basketball game on company property be covered under workers' compensation law?
This was not during an off the clock lunch break but the afternoon break required by law.
It might be, depending upon the particular facts of the situation. Does the employer encourage the playing of the game by supplying a net, court, balls, shower rooms, supervisors trying to get those they oversee to play, employees get extra pay or benefits for staying in shape, etc. Or are they just very informal pick up games with no particular benefit to the employer so not covered? And is the injury from reckless and willful misconduct by the injured employee [would have to be some bad foul].
interlectual property
I stupidly signed a contract/agreement with a company that markets (as their own) a supercharger kit that I designed, fabricated and make all of the parts for. It is a toyota tacoma V6. They are now trying to stop me from marketing another supercharger kit for a different vehicle made by the same manufacturer (toyota tundra V8 ) They have no financial stake in the second kit and provided no assistance to me during development. Can they claim my invention as their own and legally stop me from marketing the second kit.
probable cause
I understand there is a dispute regarding whether ''reasonable suspicion'' or ''probable cause'' applies to traffic stops in PA. Something to do with the PA legislature passing an amendment, but because it wasn't a new law it might not apply.
Any comments or insight on this? Thanks.
power or attorney/executor
I have a durable limited power of attorney (finances only) for my mom. As her executor, do I need a full power of attorney prior to her death to handle disposal of property and assets, hospice placement, etc. before her death. She currently has a living will for medical decisions.
