Class Act Suit filed by a sibling against tobacco industry
Other siblings led me to believe that they were filing a law suit against the tobacco industry. Told me that we didn't file in a timely matter but went ahead and filed and they will be getting paid soon, excluding myself and 4 other children. They only included their immediate whole siblings. Did it secretly. I found out by accident. Also, my father had a will done namimg me beneficiary of his estate. Also, my name is on the death certificate because I took care of him and paid the money to bury him and they did not. Is there something I can do to block this or at least include all my siblings. There are 9 of us and they have it where only 4 of my father's children will be getting paid. Is there anything I can do at this point. Their filing attorney is Willie Gary and Yvonne Reynolds at 1-800-329-4279. I cannot get a return call from them. I have left several messages for them all day today. Let me know what can be done or if anything can be done. Does probate matter in these type of cases? THANKS!
I got paid after I quit!
I quit my job at a multi-billion dollar corporation about six weeks ago, and I recently received a direct deposit payment from my former employer. I also noticed that I am enrolled in their health insurance plan. I had not even signed up for benefits when I was working there.
Am I obligated to inform them of their errors and/or to return the money?
I am refinancing my property & will be out of town during the closing. I would like to grant someone limited power of atty. I am not sure which is the correct legal form for me to fill out. Is it considered a purchase? Please advise.
Thanks.
I hit a lady from behind with my roomate's car at about 20 miles an hour.
This happened about 2 years ago and I had my learner's permit at the time. I hit the lady from behind and we pulled over to exchange information. No damage was done to her vehicle. Lady said she wasn't hurt at the time. CHP was called to make a report because she was driving her company vehicle at the time. Now the lady is filing a lawsuit with my roomate's auto insurance. I guess the victim has up to 2 years to file a lawsuit and she just made the deadline. Victim is naming me in lawsuit along with my roomate. I hear she has a claim with workman's comp and my roomate's insurance for 13,000 in medical bills. Can she have both claims filed? What's my worst case scenerio? I have no assets. Nothing in my name but my cell phone. Where would the victim get her money from? If she wins, can my paycheck be garnished or no? Please help.
