My cousin was drunk driving. He accidentally hit another car even though he was driving in the right lane with speed under the speed limit. It was raining, and roads were slippery. The passengers of the car he hit were dead but he survived. Will he still be arrested?
On these sketchy facts, I will guess that this is likely going to be a felony DUI-DWI arrest. Not sure how this is "federal," but it can occur on military reservation, federal park, etc.
Each state's laws control minimum and maximum punishment. The proximate cause of the crash may be a legal issue, but that does not exonerate him, by any means.
threat to turnaccount to collections
I received a letter from my daughters college apartment complex from 18 months ago. They claim I owe a $135 debt the auditors discovered. I would be turned over to collection agency if funds not received by the next day. I left a message on their machine to request additional info or proof. They have not returned my call. What are my rights?
