My father is an early stage dementia patient.
He is unwillingly confined to an Indiana (Floyd County) nursing facility-but not in the dementia unit.
The facility has 2 outside locked courtyards.
He has been told it is against the law for him to go outside into a locked courtyard without a staff member accompanying him. Is it actually illegal-or just inconvenient for the staff? He would like to walk and read outside in the locked courtyards. Being unable to even get fresh air, for $7000. a month is making him even more depressed.
