In Missouri, how long is the service of process for a civl lawsuit. I was informed that on last friday a civil suit was going to be filed in court. How long before I am served with the lawsuit? When should I expect to see the summons?

My son was recently grabbed by his teacher which left a red mark on his arm. My son was not in any physical confrontation that required this kind of restraint. My son left the classroom and reported the incident to the principal. The incidident was recorded on tape and witnessed by the class. The principal reprimanded the teacher and moved my son to another classroom. I believe there is also a written report. Should I sue the school for allowing this teacher to use unreasonable force on my son?

Roomate in Small Claims Court

My cousin and I began leasing an apt 2 yrs ago. When we decided to move, we ran down a few rules verbally, but nothing written; we've been very close for 26 yrs and haven�t had a argument to date. Until now, we also haven't had any major arguments concerning the apt. Now though, her boyfriend is staying there every night. I tried to compromise a few times (offering to add him to the lease & split the rent, or to move out and let them have the apt, or to agree on the # of nights feasible). She replied she understood, and after turning down most offers she agreed to minimize his # of stays...but never complied. I went to the landlord, after which she sent me a text advising that i need a child of my own and until i pay her half of the rent, i could kiss her ___. We finally met with the landlord and she then denied everything! Saying i couldn't prove it. She turned down the landlords offers to trnfr to 2-1bedroom apts. Though, the manager could sense from my roomates demeanor that I was not making this up, her hands were tied. I�m thinking of buying a spy cam and suing her for breach of contract. Will I need it or will the judge see thru her story like the landlord did. Will the tape be allowed? Can I sue b4 the lease ends? HELP ME!

Wedding photos

My husband and I were married in Las Vegas last month at a chapel with an all inclusive package - wedding photos included. The photographer barred any of our family members and friends from taking photos of us with our parents, pastors, and bridal party. We questioned him vigorously about it at the time and he claimed it was in our contract. As it turned out, forbidding people to take photos was no where to be found in the contract. The photographer did not produce one single photo to us. Claiming at one point that his memory card was corrupted. When I asked him to send it to me, he stated he had re-used it. I asked why he would do such a thing if it was in fact ''corrupted''. He then said ''no, the file was corrupted.'' I still asked to get it in my possession and he went a totally different route stating that he had thrown it away. My husband, I and our family suspect that due to overbooking on our wedding day the photographer deleted our photos and shot another weddding over it. They will not refund our money or offer any type of compensation to attempt to rectify this, accept to offer to reprint photos we took after our session with him. What action can we take?

Is it a broken contract?

A friend and I committed to a trip which would have taken us to Florida then to Louisiana. Non-cancelable hotel reservations were made for our Florida stay, the cost of which was in the amount of $1050 and which was billed to my Master Card. My friend cancelled out of the trip due to paid work being offered to her. She repaid her half of the $1050 ($525) to me but now I am out my half my of $525 with nothing to show for it. Can I assume the plans we entered into was a contract between us and that her cancelling out to her monetary benefit and to my loss is her breaking that contract? Would I have a chance to recoup my $525 from her in Small Claims court?

Giving Away Social Security Number

I am a plaintiff in pro per. I just reached a settlement with two defendants. One of them is represented by an insurance attorney and the other is in pro per.

They both asked me to give them my social security number so that they could claim the settlement amount that they will be giving me. I did so. I appreciate clarification on the following questions:

Did these parties really needed my SS# in order to give me the recovery amount?

Can they misuse my SS# and if so, what should I do to protect myself?

The recovery covers my actual damages only. Do I need to declare the recovery amount to IRS and pay taxes out of the recovery amount?

The defendant's lawyer sent me a notice telling me that I had not responded to his demurrer and motion to strike and therefore he would request the court to strike my complaint(in a civil case) without being given a chance to amend. I was never served these motions. Infact this notice is the first correspondence I got form the lawyer since I filed my complaint. What is my next move.
