DNA test DSS Child Support
Two years ago a woman from my husbands past told him that he is the father of her 10 year old daughter. They had a DNA test and the results were 99.6%. She is now 12 years old and the mother has had the child on medicaid. DSS is now coming after my husband for child support to cover medical expenses.
The child, until 2 years ago, thought another man was her father and this man is named the father on her birth certificate. He has also been court ordered through divorce papers to pay child support for her.
Isn't the other man the father in the courts eyes? Will my husband have to pay child support for this child?
I am a PI. An attorney contracted with me on behalf of her client in regards to a civil matter. The contract is "attorney for client" but she had the client write and initial that he is ultimately responsible for the bill. I have been working on this case for two years and have had to beg him for three payments. He is refusing to pay me so I am going to have to sue in small claims court (amount is $6400). His attorney has made no payments on this account.
My question is this: since his attorney contracted with me for her client but he initialed that he (client) was responsible for the bill, do I sue both the attorney and the client or just the client or just the attorney?
Business Closed but Alarm company wants their 3 year contract money
Hi, I live in NY but owned a small
corporation business in NJ last year
for about 2 months. I had signed a 3
year contract with 3rd party for
alarm monitoring service with ADT.
The business was closed in 2 months
and I called ADT to cancel the
service. But the 3rd party wants their
money. Even though the contract
was on Business name but still has
my name and ss#. Can they sue me
or mess up my credit report?
