My nephew was convicted of homicide. He was represented by a public defender 14years ago who told him to pead guilty to get out of jail quicker even though all evidence showed self defense. Is there any way to get legal help to try and get him paroled and what kind of lawyer do I contact?

I'm considering a short-sale on my home I can't afford anymore. I plan to move to my rental property which is the same mortgage lender as the second mortgage of my home. Can a lien be placed on my rental property or are the 2 mortgages completely separate?
