I. Mark Rubin has been a practicing attorney for more than thirty years. He started his career in Bradenton, Florida as a special assistant public defender handling misdemeanor cases. In his early years as an attorney, he moved to Miami to practice with his father, Ellis Rubin, and his focus went to more serious criminal cases where he attained significant experience in trying numerous criminal law cases, including drug trafficking, kidnapping, murder and even a serial killer case. Practicing in Miami with his father gave him an opportunity to work on many high profile cases that proved to make new law and cutting edge headlines. Many of these cases landed him on such programs as Larry King, Oprah Winfrey, Nightline, NBC Today and others. Mark built on this experience by transitioning into the civil side of the law. Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Civil Rights cases were the cornerstone of his practice as he honed his skills in the family tradition of representing the little guy against the establishment or corporate America. By the early 90’s he began his own family and eventually moved to North Florida to open a branch of the Rubin & Rubin firm. In Jacksonville, he fit well into a growth oriented, pro business community and soon developed relationships in local and regional business. This led to a parallel career in real estate development where he was able to use his legal skills to form partnerships to take on projects that enhanced the community (www.AccuBuildCompanies.com). Since 1994, Mark has served as the legal analyst for Jacksonville news radio station, WOKV, opining on the top legal issues of the day. During this time, his personal business experience led to a better understanding of the issues that small businesses endure in the rigors of survival, growth and profitability. Serving as general counsel to many clients to guide them away from or around problems; and litigation counsel to others that have already found their adversaries, requires the skill sets that come from being a member of a family that has a rich history in the legal arena. For more information on specific types of cases please visit our Business page. Mark is a member of the Florida Bar, Federal District Courts for Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the 11th Circuit in Atlanta and is a member of numerous trial lawyer associations and charities. He has served as a board member to the Jacksonville Urban League, International Department Task Force Chairman for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and was appointed by President George HW Bush to the Florida District Export Council for the U.S. Department of Commerce. He is a graduate of Tulane University (BA) 1979 and Stetson University College of Law (JD) 1984. He is a husband and father to three children. Mark is an entrepreneur at heart. He loves family, sports and technology
