Stay away! Lazy! Wont give you what you pay for!!! Doesnt care! He wastes your time and money!

I am filing a complaint due to a lack of service, laziness in our case, and not completing the tasks he told us he would do. We asked him to take us to court; he agreed that we had a good case and we paid him the said $1500.00. He then (without asking us) decided to take us to mediation to talk things out when we had been withholding our stepson from his biological mother due to medical neglect. My sons’ doctor was willing to testify against her; we had plenty of proof that she was unfit; she would not stop smoking around my stepson even though he has been diagnosed with acute asthma.
We have rushed him to the ER due to her unwillingness to stop smoking in the house with him, because he quit breathing on us after we picked him up from her house. Mediation came in January, we talked in the mediation room with his mother; Lloyd did not defend our case at all. He left that up to my husband while he sat in his chair and said nothing. My husband was the one pulling out paperwork and proof to show she was lying and unfit as my sons mother.
Lloyd told us that this agreement would be as good as going before the Judge, because he was going to file it with the Courts, and the Judge would sign it making it a court order. Well, we are now in May and this agreement from mediation still has not been filed with the Judge. I have called Lloyd Petersons office numerous times a month asking him to file the agreement. He says he can't get ahold of her attorney and he has left it up to her to file. We did not pay her attorney to file this; we paid him. He is now saying this agreement doesn’t mean she has to go by it. She doesn’t have to follow this paper. And he will not reimburse us our money even though we did not get anything from our payment whatsoever. He is also saying that if we went to court now we would have to pay child support when we pay every penny anyhow. He says we would be wasting our time, and that she could end up getting our son. He is unwilling to do his job; and he puts it off on others to handle. We have asked him during this case to subpoena text messages from Verizon and also police records for our hearing in court (which we paid for and did not receive). He has taken our money, and wasted our time. He was absolutely horrible! He literally only spent three hours on our case which was during mediation; and during that time he acted like he hadn’t read through our file at all. He didn’t know what was going on. We do not have this kind of money to put out for no results. The first time we went to court, we realized that the bailiff had something to tell us. The attorneys met in the back without us and were informed of the fact that my sons’ mom went to the court house the day before and was trying to figure out how to give her rights away to her mother. She did not want him then nor does she want my son now. Lloyd, without consulting with us, decided to only agree on fifty-fifty custody. We decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and used him again this time only to have our son still at a house where there are smoke stains on the walls and nicotine dripping down them. He is always sick and now he has been diagnosed as anemic because he doesn’t get fed over at his mom’s house. This is ridiculous. We currently have an appointment to talk to another attorney, so maybe she will not waste our time; and can undo the mistakes Lloyd has made on our behalf. In the mean time we will still be putting more money out to get our son out of a dangerous situation.

Stay away!

Stay away from this lawyer. He knows a lot, but cares more about money. I was offered a free consultation by a referral service. He kept originals of my documents. After I told him that I was thinking about going with a different lawyer, he decided to keep my papers until I paid $100.00 for the consultation. His excuse was that we went over the "free consultation" time.
During the consultation he said things like: " You better hire me because I know this other lawyer and he will eat you alive".

Horrible... I can't believe he would treat peoples lives with such little care.
My opinion is he took our money and left us hanging. He sounded knowledgable and appeared professional and sincerely concerned about our case. It turned out he wasn't. He made us pay $5000 upfront and hardley spent anytime representing our case; it seems he spent more time trying to talk us into settling, telling us he coulnd't get them to budge. It took us another $3000 to find a different lawyer to reverse his damage. He never refunded any of the money that he didn't earn, as requested. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided to trust him in a following custody case ...the other party represented theirself and had previously been ruled unfit. He didn't even attempt to represent, he didn't even urge at the chance for us to talk or present any evidence. We lost our baby to a truley unfit parent and she still cries and doesn't understand how this happened. We believe that it was his intention to set us up to lose because grandpa had a word with him about his lack of care shown in the previous case. Please don't waist your time and money... we've lost so much because of him. We've lost what money can't replace!!!.

He took excellent care of my son. His communication was timely and easy to understand.
