Can I remove/evict/kick out/etc. my sister from my house due to COVID-19 concerns?
Asked on Mar. 22, 2020 ,  3 Answers

Hello. I currently have my parents, nephew and sister living in my house. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, I am very concerned about the health of my family, particularly my parents, as both are over sixty and with pre-existing medical conditions.

However, my 40 year-old sister insists on proceeding to go about like it's business as usual, leaving the house frequently to run errands in the morning and afternoon, as well as to visit friends in the evening hours, sometimes not coming back until the next day.

As the situation deteriorates, I grow increasingly worried for my parents' health, and I fear I may be getting to the point where I have to tell my sister to either stay put or leave. But what if she refuses? What are my options here from a legal standpoint? Thank you.

What happens if we go into mandatory quarantine from covid pandemic and your apartment lease expires in that time frame?
Asked on Mar. 22, 2020 ,  3 Answers

Hi, I am based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL and my lease is set to expire mid april 2020. With the covid-19 outbreak, I was wondering what would happen in my situation where we might possibly be under mandatory quarantine or even martial law? Would I still be forced to move out? Or would they make us stay in place due to the situation? What tenant rights do I have in this scenario as a renter?

I was planning to move out originally, but with the uncertainty of the economy and this country I wouldn't want to move to a new apartment with prices super inflated at the moment. Can anyone shine some light into this subject please?

Thank you so much for your advice in advance!

Worked for Disney world, because of coronavirus my job has laid me off, need to move back to nc.
Second reason is that apartment has had issues that have not been resolved since moving in August 2019. I.e. black mold around ac unit and loads of bugs.
What is the best way to ask to be let out of my lease?

In regards to the Coronavirus situation. Can I refuse to let landlord show property?
Asked on Mar. 20, 2020 ,  3 Answers

I live in Florida. I have one month left on my lease. Rent has never been late. My 92 year old mom is staying with me. Almost everything is shutting down in Florida! I can’t believe that real estate agents are still going strong! Why are they allowed to still be working?
My landlord wants to sell the home and wants to start showing it to clients this weekend!
1. I don’t want people coming through the home with this virus spreading everywhere! Strangers coming into the home not knowing who they are and where they have been! I am especially nervous because of my moms age! Under these circumstances can I refuse to allow showings?
This woman is the rudest woman I have ever known! And has no disregard for myself or my mom whatsoever! I don’t want strangers coming through my house right now! What can I do?
