I want to start an information/advice column. I would like to syndicate also. How do I keep my idea safe? How do I copywrite every article I submit while getting started?

What used to be called "columns" are now called Blogs. You can start one by visiting a site such as blogger.com or wordpress.com. Many free blogging programs have automatic RSS syndication feeds. Happy blogging!
