If the person is legally competent, then a person in hospice care can change his or her will.
In general, a person is competent if at the moment of signature of the will, he or she knows who and where they are, knows his family members and what possessions he or she has in the estate, and understands the distribution pattern in the will. He or she should not be under the influence of drugs that could impair mental abilities at the time the will is reviewed and signed.
