The conviction will stay on your driving record and your criminal history record for the rest of your life. The points will stay on your driving record for two years with the Secretary of State, but the insurance company will rate you higher for three years. The legal significance of the conviction changes after seven years, but it never goes away for getting old, and it cannot be expunged. Sincerely, Frank B. Ford

A DUI in Michigan will always remain on your criminal record and driving history. Under current Michigan law, the offense cannot be expunged.
