I am supposed to take my kids to meet their Dad in about 10 days so, they can go back home with him for a week to visit. I am concerned that with our current state of emergency, it's not a good idea to travel far from home and out of state or for them to be 1000 miles away from home. There is limited wiggle room for make up parenting time since he already gets them every school break. What would a good solution be in this situation?
These are difficult questions in these difficult times. The best option would be to discuss with the father, in writing, your concerns and come up with a plan together with how to resolve this in the best interests of the kids. You may want to offer him some make up parenting time down the road when things are safer.
You should probably speak with the father, your family Dr. and find out what the coronavirus situation is like where the father lives.
