Type Your Question Here...My momma be on medicaid and live in assisted living place not in her house. Can Medicaid put a lien on her house to pay for her treatment? thnk you.

After you mother passes away, medicaid will have lien on all assets in her estate that goes through probate. There is an exception for homestead. But the best way to plan for this is to engage a local elder law attorney to have your mother execute a lady bird deed.
