Setting up A non-profit entity under a 50C3 status
I would like to set up an entity under the status of 50C3 non-profit. This entity is to be a ministry. However, its name is to be secular. I am an attorney - though recently admitted to the State of Connecticut. As such, I am not familiar with the creation of said entity in New York. Please advise, or tender more questions to research. Thank you!
Recovering Beyond The Allowable Limit
I am suing the city police dept where I live for the wrongful death of my son. I was told by my attorney that I stand a good chance to win but the city insurance will not pay more that 3 million if awarded damages. My question is if a jury should award more than 3 million is there any way that I can collect the difference that the city's insurance will not cover or I am just stuck with collecting 3 million no matter what the jury awards?
Probation w/ GPS Monitoring
I am under the impression only a judge can issue an arrest warrant. Does Electronic Monitoring (which is not probation but works with and for probation) have the authority to issue a valid arrest warrant without a judges order? I have been told by one lawyer this is ''deprivision of liberty without due process'' and the warrant would be an illegal warrant without a judges order, however, elmo ( electronic monitoring ) insists the lawyer is incorrect. Elmo went to tech school for 6 months, while the lawyer went to NorthEastern for 8 years for law . I trust the lawyer more but would like a second Opinion. This case is in Massachusetts.. Does a warrant issued by Elmo, without a judges decision constitute deprivation of liberty without due process.?
