Is it possible in Brown County WI for a caregiver who isn't the guardian, but the WI guardian resigned though the court didn't dismiss that guardian, to take a ward under guardianship of the person to another state to establish a guardianship there without asking the WI court's permission to leave the state and relocate with the ward? Can a relative who is the guardian in WI get compensated financially for being the guardian in WI?

My dad is in a rehab/nursing facility there due to a broken neck March 28th, he has some dementure (ok with the present - history has him) His wife cashed in his IRA and put everything in her name - she has power of attorney. She will not agree, which he is ready according to the professional staff, to look at AFLs. She is refusing saying there is no money - she refuses to give him pocket money for small things. He feels like a prisoner - she recently told him she does not have to give him anything. They own 2 houses - one they live in here in FL and one they hold paper on in NH - payment are for the next 9 yrs. They have no payments on the houses (mobil homes) and his wife is driving a 2012 veh with no payments. What can I do to help him? She refuses to allow him home, got rid of a lot of his things. Will not pay for him to

take a trip to NH to visist family, how ever she did purchase air fair for her to go to PA to visit her daughter. Please help me to understand how I can help him. My sibbling & I are all strapped due to economy - unemployment etc and can't help him.... the other thing... Dad wants to be buried in NH... she has said she is going to cremate him... for lack of funds... I think it's control. thanks

Good morning!I am writing about my father with end-stage cancer, who does not have much longer.He has decided to spend his remaining days with his "lady friend", who kicked us both out of her house on Father's Day.This transpired due to an argument of her understanding a hospice nurse to take him off of all narcotics and keep him solely on ibuprofen. As a nurse myself, I knew that was ridiculous!(also turned out to be not true)She then hit me, pushed me and told us both to leave.She let him come back - but I would have, too.He has left her one of his accounts POD to the tune of $94K.I also should add it's only myself and my 2 children mentioned in the will.Up until now, they have never resided together.I am beginning to question some of my dad's decisions, judgements, etc.He has a large tumor on his head,meds,etc.He talks sensibly,just judgements are way off for him.I currently have medical power of attorney, but my fear is that she will talk him into changing that to her.He has refused to sign durable POA to me and I also fear that she will get him to sign that to her.She knows so much about him-including all his bank accounts,his combination to his safe,etc.My questions are...with medical POA, can I bring him to live with me?And can you offer me any advice?I'm just afraid I do not have time to fight for guardianship.

My parents adopted a child who is almost 40 that has been diagnosed with mental disabilities (parinoid, bipolar etc) He lives in texas, they in California. He is constantly calling and getting my father who is 80 yrs old to send money. My father is dealing with dymentia and hearing loss . All of a sudden my step brother is calling almost daily and my father runs and sends him money, ie.. hundreds if not thousands in the last 6 months. My mom is afraid they will lose their room becuz my dad refuses to say no. My mom wants to know if this would be considered elder abuse. She says my father said he just cannot say no, but we all know the money goes for drugs etc. What can my mom do to protect their home and my dad. My dad watches the phones in the house, and more often than not all the calls are private caller or throw away phones.

Hello I am 27yr old female and care for my 88yr old grandmother for the past 10 years. I handle all her doctors appointments, complete goverment forms, and maintain constant contact with her doctors. Make sure she's safe. However, now an estranged son who has been absent for over 40yrs moved in, takes get money and over medicates her. I am so concerned because she has 1st stage alzemers and I see him taking her money.the Homecare agencies contacted me with serious concerns. What is the best affordable , reliable way to get power of attorney? She lives in new York And I live in new Jersey Does that interfere in anyway? and are these internet forms valid once filled without the presence of a lawyer? Is a notary public enough? Please help find a solution quickly. She is currently hospitalized due to depression. Thank you for you time.

2005 my brother became p/o/a of our father /2012 p/o/a revoked because he found out he turn deed to house over in his name instead of air property, p/o/a was move down to two more sibling...one stay sister stay here for about a wk, she an the one that was revoked close his bank account taaok what they want let him with the third p/o/a third one finishes cleaning what was left an daddy died 22nd of may of puemonia he was 90yrs old body stay in funeral home 10 days until he got the money to bury him.....other four sibling got left in the cold i have a copy of the will don't know what to do.....please help me

My niece is verbally abusing 80 year old mother, my sister. she gets right in her face and yells & screams that she hates her & wishes she were dead. it has not gotten physical as far as i know because i do not live with them. but she is very scary, i know because she screamed at me the same way when i tried to stop her. is there some kind of document i could get to let her know there are consequences if she continues this abuse? i'm afraid she could get violent the longer this continues. her speech now actually sounds violent.

Can my brother and I be responsible for debt incurred by our 90 year old Mother because she put our names on her Sun Trust bank account in Florida ? She has a reverse mortgage that she has been accessing for 2-3 years. We have just discovered she owes 700.00 in NSF overdraft charges, not to mention all the checks that have been returned. We have not co-signed for any credit cards. What would you suggest for us to do?

My father and his wife live in Florida. He is 91 and I have been on a joint savings account with him for the past ten years. Recently I have noticed that his wife is having my father sign checks and withdrawing alot of money. Since she has never been on this account what percentage could I withdraw legally and not have her claim it?

I live in the state of new jersey. My mom is elderly and was placed in an extended care facility 2 years ago. At the time, my mom was a patient in the hospital with no medical insurance and only Social Security as income. I was told by a social worker that to get my mom medical insurance and have her placed, I would have to give the state guardianship. I had no other options at the time so I did it. Now, the facility does not inform me of her medical condition, her treatment, medicines...I can't even talk to her doctor! My mom has no life insurance but is about to come into a substantial amount of money which I want to set aside for her final expenses. Does the state have control over her finances too? Can I get guardianship back from the state? My mom has alzheimers and doesn't make much sense these days so she can't do anything voluntarily. Please help

Hello I was wondering what advice you can give me on this matter. I am 25 years old and on my last birthday when I first turned 25 in July and July is coming up soon when I turn 26. When I first turned 25 I was supposed to receive my inheritance and when the trust was first issued after my grandfather had passed I was very young obviously a minor at the time and had a separate lawyer from the rest of my siblings. And ive asked my mother what happened a couple of years before she had said that they used the money to pay off the lawyer that was not the one i saw when i was younger however I do know that since I was a minor and had a separate lawyer they can't take the money out only until I am 25 the age my grandfather set it up and I think that may be a lie and someone forged my signature in order to receive the money and I do rennet my sister saying that the trust was also set up for school tuition purposes or whichever. Also on a separate issue when I was 17 I got into a car accident and sued the drivers car insurance and it was the same lawyer who I think let my mother and brother forge my signature he was a lawyer who he only gets money if he wins the case. And after 2 years he settled the case and my mother showed me a check of only $10,000 but was from the lawyers personal check which I had found fishy and think that it couldn't have only been $20,000 only settled for felt it was more and maybe my mother and brother were lying then years later she tells my sister it was more and the noney that was given $10,000 some of it was supposed to go towards my car and some in the bank no money was put towards any of this so I don't know what to do can I fight it What can I do and right now I an unemployed can I find a pro bono lawyer that will help or what should I do ?

My mother (92 years old) is bed ridden and is married to a very controlling man. He was suppose to have 24 hour nursing car for her when she was released from a care facility and slowly he had decreased her care. She goes for hours in excess of 6 without a nurse to change her diapers and in some cases, days. He has been reported 3 times but my mother always sticks up for him. He has fired over 30 nurses in approx a year and a half. He feels that my brother and I are trying to take her away from him and has her so confused that she may not want to see us any more. All the the nurses that work there have told us that she needs to be in a faclity and are concerned about the way he is preventing us from seeing her, talking to her, and her physical and mental well being. We do not know what to do. He is going to fire the 3 nurses that can corroborate this imformation and then we will be totally cut off. We fear for her well being. She has sores on her back from sitting in diapers for hours on end. He even controls her medication and goes against Dr's advice. He walks with a cane and is not capable of lifting or caring for her. He refuses to get her a life alert and if he falls, she does not have access to a phone. He answers the phone and will not even let us talk to her if he does not want us to. He is cutting her off from everyone who cares about her and depriving her of the proper care. He has her scared to speak up because he controlls her, her money, and she lives ion HIS house. He is her lifeline.Is there anything we can do? PLease help. I live in Ca. and my brother lives in Ma. My mother and my stepdad live in Falmouth, Ma.
