wrongful suit

My husband was in an altercation with a friend at my home. The ''friend' has now fileD a suit against us and is naming me in the suit claiming that I had knowledge that he ''could'' act in a manner to harm someone? I did not, nor does my husband have any prior history of doing such. Do I have good odds of being dismiss from the suit, they are naming me because I have more money than my spouse.

Injured at work, being laid off... I'm 72!!!

I injured myself at work last week, a box fell on me and hit me in my eye. My employer said to me that i was getting old and as time goes by i was going to have more acidents because i was old. He then told me i have one month left of work. He had someone at work apply for social security for me to retire. I know that i am still ale to work and so not want to retire. What rights do i have?

Religious Discrimination

My husband and I own an Ice Cream Truck and recently paid $100 to sell ice cream at the Gay Pride Festival. We are Christians and keep Gospel booklets along with business cards, etc, in a tract on the side of the truck for people to help themselves to, if interested. There is NOTHING in the Gospel booklet that implies any bias against homosexuality specifically, it simply says that every human being is a sinner and Christ died for all of our sins. Within the first couple of hours sitting there, a man noticed the Gospel booklet and did not even open it to see what it said, but became offended at the sight of ''christian literature'' and began to publically yell out that the ''ice cream man hates gays!,'' etc, which gathered a crowd that was getting increasingly angry and out of control. I was forced to leave without any real support or help from the event coordinator whom I had paid the entrance fee to. My question is, because I was discriminated against for my religious beliefs at this event, which I was NOT promoting in any way, do I have the right to demand my entrance fee, equipment rental and lost income money back from the event coordinator? Would you suggest any other legal action for the public defamation, etc? Thank you!

I was part of a huge investigation an a manager & director was fired. An 1 supervisor was demoted. Every since I revealed the truth. A manager made a comment to me that he will rolled me out the door and not to say anything when it happens. Another manager called me ghetto & said she 3 word to describe me. She thought she was whispering to a manager but a few proplr heard including my self. Do you think I should seek some legal advice. The company trying to find so many ways to get rid of me. I am 1 of the top performers in the department & I work from home.

Routine Traffic Stop Involving Illegal Search Of Vehicle

Due too ineffective counsel, A friend is going to be convicted of multiply charges that seems to have violated his civil rights and his civil liberties. Is said case he was riding with a friend who indeed has a valid drivers license and no prior criminal back ground. The officer took it upon his self to to question the passager and pull them out of the car although there was no visible violations of any crime. In doing so he discover a slap stick in the vehicle, which the passager claimed was his. He was arrested and charged with a fireams charge, due to his prior history. He was able to obtain legal counsel, but the attorney in question has hardly spoken to the defendant and has not even filed a motion on his behalf, also the officers held the partis in question for longer then 30 minutes before he pulled anyone out of the car.

Property Damage

We stayed at a hotel. And the next day we noticed the window was broke. I told them we didn't do it. But they just charge my card a $1000.00. And we didn't do it. I even called the desk to see if they knew about it. What can I do? They said we did it being rawdy. I am 55 & my husband is 54. rawdy is not in our life style. By because we were helping with a harley rally they labled us. I wouldn't mind paying for this window if we broke it but we didn't.

Discrimination

Here is the situation:

My son is a member of a private ice hockey club.

Myself and a Dad from another family had an affair and were found out.

He has told everyone that there was no affair, that I was stalking him. I can disprove this relatively easily.

Based on these allegations, I am facing diciplinary consequences at the rink.

I have two questions:

1)The hockey club has listened to his side of the story, but not mine. If they refuse to hear my side, could they be committing gender discrimination based on listening to the man's story and not the woman's.

2) Can I sue the other party in the affair for libel/slander/defamation or anything like that based on accusing me of stalking that is not true?

My attorney doesn't seem to be doing anything effectively to win my case.What can I do at this time? I had surgery,knee, had numerous emergency room visits during recovery, and physical therapy documentations of complications,and I know for a fact that a round doorknob size stake was placed in the ground at smith and hawkings store but was on sidewalk instead of in the grass, and that''s when I feel over it as I exited the store after making a purchase. My now attorney seems to be letting this injustice evaporate into thin air and I feel helpless to do anything about it. It's sad that I feel that I'm involved in another unjustifiable situation with a lawyer who said that he would aggressively represent my interest, and he shows no interest at all. Please help me. My employment was terminated because I told my boss that I had some serious medical issues, which ended in my having to have a brain tumor removed. I have written to many agencies and cannot even get a response. Who can I talk to? I was 41 at the time and was fired upon him learning I would have to go out for additional testing.

Birthday celebrations at work

My employor always has cards and cake for management staff birthdays. They did not celebrate a managers b-day, even though the GM was aware of the date. Is there basis for a complaint and/or lawsuit?

What should I do abou this

I have been working for this company for about a year & a half as an area manager & have had four operational managers within that past year & a half. However, out of four managers I have only had a problem with one. That has made comments to others that I need to be fired, well now he is my manager again and he made a comment that I feel was racist. I was in the break room one day me and my supervisor in which we are both African American and my manager came in and I saw he had something under his coat, I then asked what is that under your coat and he responded 'A rope to hang you with when you mess up' this is coming from a white man. At that time, my supervisor and I looked at each other and I started thinking that was a racial comment because he already has something against me. I reported this to the personnel Manager and he asked me did I think he was joking and I said no because we do not have a joking relationship. Then I told the General Manager and he said he would get to the bottom of it. Well the next week the brought me in and told me that we are managers and need to work our differences out. Then told me this is not the 70's and that stuff no longer exists. I still have to work for this person. What should I do?

Is it illegal to date a 16 year old when you are 18? i would love to date a daughter of my friend but she says its illegal although she would love me to date her. Still i think it aint that bad... were only 2 years and 4 months apart... is that really illegal?

Dress Code at Work

I work part-time at a car dealership as a receptionist. A few weeks ago I was told that I was dressing too sexy. I was wearing short skirts. Since then I have worn only pants. I never show cleavage. Again, I was called by my manager and told it had been reported by another employee that my stomach was exposed. It was exposed not more than an inch right at my belly button. Other female employees expose much cleavage (including the manager that warned me). Is this appropriate?

Unfair Treatment at work place/discrimination

Advice is needed on a situation that occurred on July.4th at my job. The story goes as follows: I was falsely accused by a co-worker, a fellow nurse ( caucasian male) of smelling like beer. Apparently he told facility manager ( Caucasian female) and she approached me asking'' have u been drinking'' I stated no. in turn she stated '' I received complaint from someone of smelling beer on u and I've spoken with the administrator via phone & according to policy u gotta go home''. I stated '' that person must be smelling my cologne I'm not going home...I need to speak with administration''. Spoke with administrator demanded & insisted on being sent somewhere for testing to clear my name. Went to hosp had alcohol/drug testing done everything negative. Issue is they did not follow proper procedure. Administration was quick to take his word over mine, had I not insisted on testing I would of gotten terminated & nursing license would of been jeopardized . Proper procedure for suspected substance abuse by employee on any job is immediately send employee for testing not directly home. Question is do I have case for discrimination or unfair treatment at the workplace.

Suspicion of Discrimination

Im interested in taking legal actions against an employment agency for what I believe to be discrimination. I am a college graduate looking for employment and have applied to over 50 of a job agencies job postings, most of which I am over qualified for, and some other that I am very qualified for. There are few that I have applied to that have been out of my league, however I have NEVER received a response by phone or e-mail asking me to interview, although I have the appropriate years of education and in many cases surpass the education of others applying to the positions. Monster dot com is flooded with this agencies postings and it has made it difficult for me to find a job because they monopolize the job boards and take race into consideration when making their responses. I have searched some history of the company and have found that they are known for discrimination practices. Is there a case here, or do the loopholes in the Equal Oppurtunity Employer acts make it impossible. I really think I might have a legitimate case here, expecially with recent immigration problems.
