Male discrimination

Just recently, I was escorted off the worksite for having expressed a bit of simple frustration. I'm a man, and even so this is the only time it has ever happened. A woman co-worker called security on me to have me escorted off the site and for me to talk to a manager the following week. I think I've just been discriminated against, because all of my other co-workers are women.

Mcdonalds

I was at Mcdonalds this afternoon. I left my table messy and came back later and the shift manager refused to service me. I called their customer hotline and complainted. Is their a possible lawsuit in this?

Although I am young, I do my job

better then most of the managers

(who are above me) and well above

all other employees. A couple of my

managers seem to discriminate me

because of my young age. Is this

ground to have disciplinary action

taken upon the managers and what

kind of evidence is needed usually.

Most of the things happening include

yelling, alternate work, embarrassment in front of other

employees and other general harassment. The company I work for

is a large clothing retail store with

over 1000 stores.

Discrimination against pregnant woman

Do i have a case? I have been at my job (big corporation) for nearly 7 years, in the state of pa. During my maternity leave i got a call that i am getting laid off. I was told that i couldnt reapply cause i had a write up in my file. (The write was unfair thing due to my pregnancy i was not able to lift i had a dr note, that i couldnt lift, i got wrote up for not finding out of date cases of soda in the back room of accounts that were under other cases of soda.) So the write up was unfair, everyone has out of dates i was the only one to get wrote up for them. I then found out that other employees who had write up were able to reapply for their jobs and that they got to keep them. I felt like from day one that i told them about my pregnancy that they targeted me. I wasnt able to reapply for my job that i have been doing for 7 years but yet they were able to hire someone off the streets with no experience to replace me. In my sales center there are 14 people in sales 12 men 1 other girl and me. If i put my family on hold i bet you i would still have a job with them!

I've been working at this job for 3 months now. When I first started, I was told by the boss that he was hiring me to fire the present receptionist. He said he was trying to push her to the limit, for what point, I dont know. Now that I'm here for 3 months, he has hired 3 other receptionist, 1 black, 2 hispanics, and told the 3rd one that he was hiring her to fire me! As long as I worked here, he never had given me a company shirt, and when the 2 new hispanic females came in, they received shirts on their first day. The other black girl didn't even get one. I feel harrassed due to me having to bring him messages, and hearing him scream out at me, ''WHAT IS THIS''! I don't feel its fair for me to have to go for no reason. Does he owe me a reason? I feel harrassed at times when he constantly screams for no reason, and I have to remind him that I don't appreciate being screamed at. When he speaks to the other 3 receptionist, he does not include me. Do I have a case, as far as discrimination goes? He also violated the privacy act by telling the other emplpyees my private reasons for my absence. I almost miscarried and everyone knew!

i was fired for poor attendance my employer runs on a point system no employee is aloud to miss more than 8 days a year i was fired on my ninth day of missed work even with a doctors note but a black dude i worked with who was also hired on the same day as me had missed more than 17 days before he was fired

Bilingual Discrimination

I'm a bilingua resident of a teenage group home. My problem just raise yesterday because staff in this facility set a new rule which I thought was insane and totally not fair. They demanded me not to speak spanish when I'm in the facility(ELABORATION: Not to speak spanish when their is kids around me that don'r speak spanish). They set this new rule with the excuse that it made people uncomfortable and it was rude to do that. I feel they went too far. I should have a legal right that protects me to speak any laguage I prefer regardeless of what people think or do I not in this right in this case?

lunch break laws

Is it ok for an employer to make one employee punch out for lunch breaks and not the rest of the employees or is that considered discrimination?

Injured and discriminated against.

Reported 3 injuries in course of 4 years, the last injury I was admitted to E.R .and out for 1 month. employer never ever offered medical assistance whats so ever. as it provides medical benefits to ONLY Resident Managers ONLY. Also when supervisor sprained ankle,he received all the proper medical assistance as transportation provided by the manager. I continued working thru my injuries and the extreme pain as I daily complained to employer. Currently iam still hurting of extreme pain on lower right side of back.I was promised rent free living and pay raises but when employer hired new employee, employer told me that I was no longer going to receive the rent free and pay raises as they promised after all. So when i requested for a 30 day leave due to my fathers health they granted my request but only to get discharged for non payment of rent upon my return from my leave.My rent had always been paid as manager allowed for rent to be paid in payments or in full for the employees that paid rent and if you employee was white then you get rent free but regardless, my rent was always paid and she never had problem with it. It all began because i found out about workers comp and tried to pursue it as they never offered anything.

I have been at my job for over a year now and have watched indivisuals be promoted into positions well beyond their education and experience. About two months ago I put in for a position at my job that would have promoted me from a supervisor to an assistant manager. At that time I was told to complete several task so that the next time the position became avaliable I would be elidgiable for it. The position has come open again and I have completed all requested tasks yet I am be asked to complete the same task again. My employers have a poor history of promoting minorities. Is this an issue that I can take further or should I just seek employment elsewhere.

Age Discrimination

I filed an age discrimination complaint with the PA Human Relations Commmission and EOC after being left go at a local hospital after 27 1/2 years (age 51). Their legal staff finds that probable cause exists and a conciliation meeting is scheduled this month.

Would it be wise for me to also file a civil suit agains the employer or will they make a monetary settlement at the conciliation meeting? I am currently employed by a construction management company building a new hospital. They are out of Baltimore MD. When this job is completed (10/09) I will be unemployed. I am currently 53, will be 54 then. It will be very difficult to find other employement at my age and in my location. As of this time, the company does not have any upcoming jobs in this area after completion of the hospital.

i have been at my current job for a year and a half and previously worked for this restaruant in the past. i was let go in the past by a female manager. the owner is a woman but is also very standoffish with the male staff. especially since her husband left her a couple of years ago. we currently have 5 female managers and one male. this place has always been very unfair to the male staff. i have the most senoirity of the front staff and yet i have never been promoted or offered a promotion. i was recently yelled at by the owner and then was threatened to be fired due to another incident in which i did not have permission to do what i did, but took the initiative in thinking i was helping and not doing any thing wrong. there have been other instances where other males and myself have been discriminated against. coments about men being dogs,animals and the like have been made. should i pursue some sort of legal action as this is affecting my health as well as my other job.

Question regarding my husbands job

My husband had me apply for a job with his current employer online for a management position. From him applying for this position online they have removed him from the management program stating that he went over there heads applying for this position. My opinion is that this is a form of discrimination because anybody should be able to apply for upward mobility and not have it provide any repercussions to his current position. Please Help thank you

V.P. of major armored car company wanted to fire me.

I was not terminated because my branch manger stuck up for me. I have 14 years with the company. It is a long story a customer on my route had closed down. I had told managemet verbaly that the location had closed down. So my companyhad billed them for three months. and had to reufund the money back to the customer. I was blamed for the the mistake due to managment.Incopitance. Vice pres said to hr that ''at the very least he is not smart enough to carry a weapon in public and we need to get rid of him.''I think this is discrimination. I have the internal memo. Do i have a case to sue?

Refused tenancy because of companion/therapy dog?

In Nov. I found an affordable place to live. I have a companion dog. Manager told me she would need to check with her boss because he didn't want dogs in the apt. unless I was blind. I asked her if I could fill out an app & give her my credit report, but she said no because she didn't want to waste time. 2 days later I returned with my dogs papers and info I got from Google to prove the legality's of a comp. dog. Once again refused to let me fill out app. & turn in credit report. She faxed the info to boss and after almost 3 wks of me calling and asking for the results she finally said I could mail her an app. & credit report. A few days later she told me my report was great but I couldn't move in because I owed a 5 year old long distance bill (from a different company than my regular phone service). She explained that not paying a necessity was the reason. Gas and electric are necessities, maybe even basic phone service, but long distance??? I am convinced that I was refused because of my dog. I read that a person was awarded 22K because comp. pet was not allowed to go into a restaurant. Do I have a case? Her fiddling about made me lose 3 weeks of apt. searching and I had to settle for another apt. that costs $125 more.
