The COVID-19 pandemic has created a new set of challenges for our society, let alone the court system. Obeying one's release conditions is essential in order to minimize potential exposure, and to reduce complications with one's criminal case.
My name is Dusty Briscoe I live and do business in La Canada, Ca. I have had the DBA name,
"The Critter Sitter" for about eight years now.
It has come to my attention that two other people are advertising in La Canada using my "Critter Sitter" name by advertising, "LA Critter Sitter" and "A Critter Sitter" neither have a registered DBA.
I was told that I would have to surrend my DBA "The Critter Sitter" and reregister with each name to stop the use of "Critter Sitter".
1. The Critter Sitter
2. LA Critter Sitter
3. A Critter Sitter
4. La Canada Critter Sitter
Where does it end? I thought there had to be a restriction on someone using the "Critter Sitter" within a certain distance of a business with that DBA name?
I want to know if there is an "umbrella" name using my DBA "The Critter Sitter" or any "Critter Sitter", if you will, just in my little town?
Thank you
falling window on commercial property
I was invited for an interview in a commercial office, and the sliding glass window in the wall of the reception area, was not seated, and when attempted to slide open by the worker, fell, slamming me on my arm/hand on its chrome edge. Further, I began screaming in pain shouting to call 911 and the worker (male) came at me and opened the door and ordered me out in a threatening manner. I hired an attorney who filed a circuit civil suit. (I have a copy) I later found out that the paperwork was a fake - his explanation was his former assistant made up a case number and it was never filed. He then informed me that the insurance company said I had too many prior claims and he sent me a release for $5k. I have nerve damage as a result of this window falling on me. I explained to this attorney that I will not sign this and he said it is in my best interest to do so. Signing this would state this did not occur in my opinion. Also I told him in writing his services are no longer needed and he refused to accept this. I feel I have a good case, I was in that office no more than 60 seconds and due to their negligence and no fault of my own I was injured. I have to pay for further medical expenses. What are my options?
Will
My father had a will- I am the executer. My father needed help these last few years as he had a brain injury. He left me 60% of his estate because he was worriend that he would live another 20 years or so and he wanted to protect me because I have only been working part time (I was helping him)- I wasn;t happy with this and my Father said that if he died sooner then later I could distribute the money between my siblings equally if that is what i wanted. i want to do this...is there anyway that i can decrease my 60% to 25%(there are 4 children) or does his will have to be follwed exactly. I was his POA and i am also the executer. PLEASE HELP!!!
My father in law passed away recently, my wife is next of kin. He was living with his father who past away 2 weeks prior. My father in law's siblings have taken things from the house, and now they are trying to get us to relinquish items he gave us to protect.
Got a nastygram today telling us to relinquish an item or else within 24 hrs. A supposed contract on a bar naptkin signed by the deceased, ted nugent and jimi hendrix states the item goes to the sibling when he passes. None of it looks like his handwriting. What general direction should we pursue this?
