i just got a divorce and the ex changed the paper work from joint costody to full costody with out my knowledge and i ask the judge about it and he said you signed it right and i did but it was changed with out my knowlege what can i do about this?just file joint costody or what i am lost.. also my check from the goverment now that we are dioviced can i use that to pay the rrears?

Child taking Step-father's sir name

My daughter is 12. I was never married to the biological father and my daughter has my maiden name, like me. The biological father left when she was two, after protective order filed in Dallas court for physical violence against me. I am going to marry soon. I will be taking my husband's sir name. I have no clue as to the whereabouts of the biological father. I know he left the state when she was two. He has had no contact and pays no support. How do I change her name to match mine after the marriage?

My 16 yr old decided to go and live with her dad. She has been there for 1 week. The day after she was there, he started hounding me about going to the AG and amending the current child support and to pay him child support. The split was not of my consent, although I did let her take her things. Does he have the right to demand support and ammend the current child support? Should I wait and let him legally request this? She is 16...they do stupid things and change their minds all the time.

My son, his girlfriend and their 5 month old baby live with me. They have lived with me since his girlfriend was pregant. My son works but does not make enough money to support himself let alone the girlfriend and baby. They pay nothing to live with me and I basically provide for all their support. I buy everything for the baby from formula, baby food and diapers. Can I claim her as a dependent on my income tax over my son claiming her.

Custody trial ruling

My ex-husband tried to get custody of my kids. He thought since he remarried he would win. I was able to continue to have primary custody. The judge made him pay for everything. In his ruling after the trial the judge decided to make us go to a parent coordinator, because we don't get along, and have the kids go to a counselor. We've been divorced 7 years, we will never get along. The counselors and gardian ad litem stated in the trial our kids were well adjusted thriving children. They don't need counseling, but it seemed like the judge didn't really pay much attention to any of the testimonies. I am required to pay 20% of fees for counseling. my ex would not agree on any counselor I found.Instead the courts decided and they chose someone so expensive that even 20% is outrageous. I have a child that is handicap(from another marriage). I am the only one that takes care of him. I work as an artist, but money is tight. I haven't followed the Judge's court order, because my kids come first.Every penny I make goes towards them. Now I'm in contempt of court(my ex says).What do I do.My lawyer will not return my calls or emails. Will I go to jail. Is it to late to appeal,since it was placed in January.Is my Lawyer in trouble?

What are the steps that I should take in order to receive conservertorship for a family member that is mentally ill and is currently residing with me.

going back to court for alimony after divorce

We live in NJ. my husband was divorced 4 years ago.

Now after 4 years ex-wife got a lawyer and taking him back to court asking for alimony and lifetime medical benefits.

She has always worked and had benefits before the divorce, hasnt worked in about 1 1/2 years. She lives off the child support she gets every month for their children. There are no disabilities on her part, so there is no reason why she cannot work.

What are her chances of winning this case?

Can a divorce be changed once it is signed by both parties and the judge?

Married for 8 years. I owned the home since 1990. My husband received a lump sum buyout/retirement in 2007 of $140,000, foregoing all health care benefits. We signed a post-nup stating in case of separation he will quit claim the house to me, which he has, and in return I will stay married to him so that he can have my health insurance. I did not receive any of his buyout money due to this agreement. Now he has decided to file for Divorce. The post-nup also states if HE filed I would not be responsible for his health care but if I filed I would be. Now he says that he should be entitled to some of the equity in the house. Does this Post-nup stand up in court? Would adultery play a part on the courts decision? He is also trying to force me to re-finance the home immediately. I retired in 2005, and not sure if I can qualify at this time due to my fixed income. He was having the affair when all of these decisions between us were made. I would have kept my $50,000 a year job had I known all the facts. I stand to lose quite a bit of money due to legal fees, refinance costs and possible equity. I also started a business, but currently at a loss. I could lose my home. I am planning on hiring an atty. but would like your thoughts.

My now ex-wife used my credit card to pay for an attorney in our divorce. I learned of this 1 month after the divorce was final. Also the attorney knew that it was my card. Can I file charges against my exwife and her attorney?

Full Custody and Attempted Rape

My daughter 17 yrs of age with 9 months baby boy is pregnant again with this 19 yrs old boyfriend with no job and no support for the baby. The baby is in our full custody because we're provide him the medical insurance, medical expenses, diapers, food and everthing. The boyfriend's Mom want a full custody with the baby and there's no help from them at all, and besides her boyfriend attemp of raping my youngest daughter 14th yrs of age.
