Paternity Varification Testing

If someone had a dna test done, outside the state of Ca (in the state of New Mexico), would it be legal to use within the state of Ca as full legal proof of paternity (showing the parent is not the biological parent)? And on the dna test results, it shows that the parent requesting the test, did not show identification nor sign for the test to be done. Nor will that parent say as to how the test was done.... in New Mexico, when the child never went to New Mexico, and a blood test for this was not done.

Emergency change in custody

My ex husband is wanted by the police for growing pot in his home and is now in hiding. He turned his 800 sq ft master bedroom into a pot farm in the house that he lived in with the kids 50% of the time. They have now been with me full time and I need to change the court orders for custody and support. Can this be done with out physically serving him? (He might have left the country)

Divorce Court Cancelled

I filed for my divorce in Brazos County, Texas. I have a joint conservatorship betwwn my mom,husband, and my two daughters in Denton County. It was drawn up as if we were divorced. There has already been a final order entered in that case. The judge said I woul dhave to have the case transfered to Brazos County but I can't because Denton County won't transfer it because my children live there with my mom. I can't get a divorce in Denton because I don't live there and my husband won't file. Every attorney I speak to says the judge is wrong and I can't afford to pay 250 per hour to hire one. What should I do next?

Mail and slander

I have an unusual legal question.

I was recently caught shoplifting at a local department store.

No legal charges were filed, but they are asking for reimbursement,

moneary reimbursement in lieu of a civil suit.

The letter requsting the fine was sent, inadvertently, to my old address,

which happens to be the house i grew up in, but, is now owned by my brother

and his nosy wife. She not only opened the letter, claiming the letter was

addressed to ''Resident'', not me, and then brought the letter in to where i work,

which is a family owned IT company, and, in front of my employees, told me to

have the address changed on my ID and ''Not to Shoplift, in front of my employees,

and then also told my parents, which happen to be my General Manager, and the CEO

of the company. Is this legal? I think that not only opening the mail, reading the mail,

and then revealing the contents to my employees and superiors is criminal.

Do i have any legal recourse?

Enforcing FL monetary divorce judgment in WV

I was granted a divorce in FL by default w monetary judgment of almost $8000. He resides in WV and was ''laid off'' 2 days after the default was ordered. He didn't attend any of the hearings, file any answer. He has refused to pay any of the judgment and the house he got to keep is almost in foreclsoure. How do I enforce the FL judgment in WV? How do I garnish his wages if he doesn't yet have a job? SHould I retain an attorney in FL or WV to proceed? What type of attorney is best to handle this situation?

Greetings, I was divorce in 12/14/06 after 23 years of marriage. I agreed to let my ex. have the house based on the fact. she wouldn't seek child support for our adopted child. He is 8. She receives $1600 a month for adoption subsity. She didn't keep her end of the agreement. I now have to pay child support. and she is selling the house. what can I do.

I am filing divorce. Both vehicles are in my husbands name. I have the newer one, since I have our 2 year old son. Now he says he is coming to take the vehicle and leave me with no way to go. The old beater truck he has is paid for. The newer GMC in my possession is not. Can he legally take both vehicles and leave me with nothing?

Fraud on Marital rights?

My stbx refied our home and then purchased another one in WV titleing it in his g/f's name. He then let our hse go to foreclosure.

He also stated on his loan app for the refi that his income is over $5K a mo. and $1600 is Soc. Sec. disability. I called Soc.Sec and they stated he is NOT receiving any kind of benefits!

For our child support order, he's stated his income is only $2K mo.

Pregnant 17 year old won't get medical attention

Can I force my 17 year old to get medical attention? She is clearly pregnant but is refusing to go to the doctors. She does not live in my home. She ran away in Oct. of 2007.

18 year old moving out - can parents stop this?

I've heard about a law that allows parents to appeal to the courts to stop their 18 year old child from moving out if they haven't graduated from highschool yet. Is this a real law? If so, would the courts even look at it if the 18 year old in question only had 2-3 more months of highschool remaining, or would it just get thrown out? (This is assuming all the paper work and everything is in by the child's 18th birthday.) If it's a real law, I want to know as much as you can tell me about it, please.

My sons father is like a ticking time bomb, he acts out in ways that normal people can not understand. I dont want to take away his right to see his son but i do believe it should be very limited as far as keeping him especially considering his current state of mind. What steps can i take to maybe have supervised visits or limit his time to maybe one day a week or something. I can't rest easily when my son goes with him. I feel trapped because I don't want to deny him or especially my son a relationship with his father but I don't think he can take care of him alone either. Child support has been filed but I have yet to hear anything from Family court. Its has been 51/2 months since i initially filed. I really need help to move on with my life his irractic behavior his putting a damper on my life personal and professional.
