Should I Have My Own Atty?
I am the only child of the deceased, and mother of the only grandchild of the deceased. After many requests I finally received a copy of the will a week after my father�s passing from the executor of his estate. I�ve read it, but understand very little of what it says. The executor will not answer any of my questions. I�ve contacted the attorney who prepared the will and was told he represented the �executor of the estate�, he also would not answer any of my questions. Who represents my father? Who should cover and explain the contents of the will with me? I�m afraid my father has been taken advantage of given his poor health and extensive dementia. I need to know my legal rights as a beneficiary of my father�s will and what action should I be taking in order to preserve my father�s last wishes.
