Can an employee get fired for speaking in another language with coworkers? I speak in my mother language with my coworkers since they do not speak good English. And owner told me not to do that. Is this considered discrimination?

Moreover I am a friendly person smiles a lot at work. My employer told me not to smile. Does he have a right to say that??

When I work from 2pm-10pm after 6pm I am the only person. So I use the rest room if I wanted during that time. He told me not to. Is this legal??

Every day when I work I have to stay 45 minutes without getting paid to close my shift. Balance the money etc.. And I do not get any rest or meal breaks even though there are two or more employees at work?

If I get fired do I have the right to ask for a reason in writing and for the last pay check?

I live in california and was working for a cab company for 3 yrs. I was having some problems with the drivers, mainly one that took to a personal call me profanity and basically yelling at me. This wasnt 1st time that its been to us Dispatcher. Anyhow the owner told that we have a meeting with the driver and take of it. 3 weeks later no meeting went in to see him after leaving messages to him and getting no replies, he comes out of his office telling me what do i want he is busy and that i need to talk to the "GM" which he is the acting manager which i actually to discuss matters regarding him as well also meal period violations, he basically dismissed me and i told him i would contact the Labor Board he followed and ask me what was i going to and i stated that i was going to contact the labor board due to the violations and the being subjected to the verbal harrasment i was dealing with. i told him i felt it wa unfair that he is so quick to reprimand us but fails to defend us. Right then the GM walked out the door where we were at and stated "ok your terminated" i was look like what ok for stating that im going to labor board. No reply given is this possible wrongful termination

Back in 2011, I was a Santa Claus under contract to work in a mall location.

The maintenance workers left out an extension cord , I fell face forward and damaged my right hand wrist.

I have had 3 surgeries ( the last one with a screw and 1/2 inch of bone cut out ) and maybe one more next year.?

My Attorney has agreed to Mediation but after talking to another person they said mediation is a waste of time and

I should be going through Arbitration or litigation ... What are your thoughts , Thanks ...

I have been working in the AUSD school district for 30 years. Over the last 2 years I have been retaliated against after being accused of abuse and found innocent and reinstated. I believe that I am being discriminated against because of my age and race. I had never had anything negative in any evaluations went above my job to help when I could and then we got a new superintendent and all of the older employees were being accused of things and resigning, under the pressure. I have been transferred without consideration of my seniority in the district without explanation . Frustration is setting in I believe that I am being discriminated against do to my age and race ? Can I be helped?

What are the first steps I do when I was laid off from my job---I believe it was wrongful termnination and discrimination--and how do I go about collecting unemployment at the same time--I was advised to seek an unemployment attorney and do I find one that does it on a contingency basis? I am a supervisor of a warehouse. I report to a manager who reports directly to the CEO. I filed a complaint against my manager for unfair acts against other team members. On my next day to work I was told that my job duties have now changed and I'm no longer a supervisor. I believe the same company is fighting a wrongful turm out of San Diago.

I had a question to see if this is justifiable. I have requested a week of non pay personal time off because I have a personal issue I need to take care of out of work and I have seen and have heard from other supervisors that employees have asked for time off with out pay to handle other issues and they have been granted I have seen people take one paid week of vacation and another week of non payed vacation with no problem. So what im trying to get at is this a justible cause of getting terminate if I have asked them for time a month in advance. I trully belive its becuase I got injured at the work place and my claim just finished and this was the perfect oppurtunity to get rid of me. Becuase I have never got in trouble in the whole 5yrs I have started not even one write up. Can you please help me get an answer if possible. Thank you
