city sewage proposal
Can a city anex an outlying housing development to increase the number of people who will be paying for a sewage treatment for another devision which does not have large enough lots for septic systems??? We of course would be forced to upgrade as well. But our lots are large enough for septic systems. So they say we will be charged for two hookups. Because we can sell off part of our large lots for building. The proposal Will cost about 30 to 50 thousand dollars, plus $30/mo., plus increased taxes. the present tax value of my house is 130,000.
My present septic system costs $100 every three years to have pumped. My well is 165 ft and has good water. Thanks for your opinion.

Cities have broad powers when it comes to annexation. The keys are (1) organizing political support for your position early in the process, and (2) being a watchdog for compliance with the statutory proceedures.
