Deed of Trust or judgement
Is it detrimental to the successful claimant in a civil lawsuit to seek a Deed of Trust (or take any position) on real estate to secure the award/judgement?
Re: Deed of Trust or judgement
No and it can increase the chances of payment later on. Your first step should be to record an Asbtract of Judgment and that will put a lien on any real property belonging to the judgment debtor.
