is it my responcability if i bought a car in january 2, 2006 to pay for my tags if there due in july 2006 our the car dealership?

I guess it was a used car, right? A new car should have a registration anniversary on the date first registered.
I would say if you bought a car with tags only good for another 1/2 year, you got what you bought, and when renewal time comes, it is your responsibility.
Think of it this way. If you buy a used car with half-worn-out tires, when they are completely worn out, it is you, not the seller, who must pay for new tires.
On the other hand, if this were a new car, it should go off the lot with 12 months' worth of registration, just as it should have new tires.
