I was separated from my job through a RIF action which I thought was improper. I fought this matter and prevailed. I was given reinstatement/backpay, etc. Immediately prior to returning to duty, I was outright fired for supposed ''misbehavior'' that occurred years ago, and well before I was RIF'ed/separated. Isn't this reprisal/retaliation?

I work for a company who does construction on schools. Which is government funded, Recently We were to take FBI backround checks.

My check came up with some minor problems, which happened 9 years ago when I was 18, but i was not ever arrrested or convicted of these charges.. The district I was working on had me removed from the job and now I' m told i might not be able to work on anymore school jobs because of this,, But that is the line of buisness I am in School jobs.. what do I do? Take a class action against this district for making false accusations against me and making me take a 18 dollar pay cut,

The accusations had to do with a underage drinking which was filed as curuption of minors, but the charges were droped in a court, and i recieved nothing more than a fine.. Please help me figure out what to do in this situation before it hurts my family finances any further

schools ability to ban a student from attending school

My son was charged with drug possesion and possesion with intent to sell. He served 16 days in detention and we were allowed to transfrer him to a 28 day in patient program. He is on probation for 2 years. The school is saying they have to present the situation to the board to vote if he will be allowed to be reinstated in school or an alternative situation. He has a 504 plan.Can they do that?

Illegal Consumption Ticket - witness and oral confession

I am 17 years of age. I was at a party and had a beer. I am a law enforcement explorer and I have the ability to ''ride around'' with a police officer that is on duty. I left the party and rode with the officer. The party I went to got busted. Another person told the officer that I had been drinking at the party. The next day, the officer brought me in to ask me if I had any thing to drink before I got in with him and I told him that I did. My question is, Does he have everything he needs to be able to give me a ticket for illegal consumption of alcohol?

Not showing up for deposition

The defendant in pro per did not show up for production of documents today. She has neither mailed me the documents nor called me to request an extension. 30+5 days have already passed. I called the defendant�s cell phone today, her voice mail came up in which she confirmed that it was her. I left her a message. Here are my questions:

1) How many days I should wait to file a motion to compel answers?

2) Can I request for sanctions?

3) When I file the motion to compel answer, do I need to give the defendant 30+5 days to come to the hearing?

4) What will be my next step if the defendant continues not to show up for the hearing?

Lawsuit Question

I am looking to file a lawsuit against a shipyard in my neighborhood who is going to be in violation of their by-laws and maritime charter. What sort of lawsuit should I procede with?

I wascharged in District Court my bail was set at $500. cash or bond. I paid a cash bail. My court appointed attorney did not inform me when my first appearance was. One afternoon I thought to myself, ''I must be having court one of these days''. I called the clerk of court and found out I missed my date and my bail had been was forfeited. Not only did my attorney not send me information when I was to appear he did not even try to call or send a letter when I did not show up.

I made a voluntary appearance in court the following morning (that was the soonest court was in session) without representation. The judge appointed me a different attorney and released me on personal recognizance, to the States Attorneys� dismay; who was trying to get it upped to $50,000. The case ended up being dismissed (without prejudice) a month later. Does the court have to return my bail money since the case was dismissed? If so, how do I get it back? Does anyone know of case law or case precedence to back my claim to my bail money?

I am in the middle of an ugly divorce. My attorney quit and will not allow me to have copies of my file unless I pay .25 cents per page and the time to copy at $150.00 per hour. Is this legal? Aren't I entitled to my records, free of charge? Is there a law that covers this sort of ''argument''?

Case Management Statement

I filed a lawsuit in the superior court against three defendants for inflicting extensive damage on my property and not accepting responsibility to fix it.

My Case Management Conference is on September 28, 07. Here are my questions.

1) Is it too late for me to file my Case Management Statement with the court now?

2) Do I need to file a separate CMS with the court for each defendant, or I can file one case management conference for all the three defendants?

3) Is it mandatory on my part to do discoveries, depositions, and interrogatories with all those whom I list in my CMS or, I have the option of not proceeding with everyone listed if I decide not to?
