rent a center

I bought some furniture fron rent a center in march 2007 I also got insurance in case I got laid off for an extra 9 dollars a week . well they screwed me over a bunch of times on broken couch and other stuff . Well in june 2008 I got laid off and they didnt honor the insurance ive been paying for from them so I keep up with the payments and the beginning of july I move to a cheaper place my payment was due on the first saturday in july I was busy cause I just moved so I didn't make it there to pay them . on this same day they go to my house see that I moved and call my sister saying that I stole their stuff not very nicely . so I call them and get into a big blowup wiyh them and I end up telling them to take me to court I know that I owe them money and I just want them to feal the frustrastion that I have been feeling with them .But am I in criminal trouble with this ?

Re: rent a center

NO, it does not sound like you have done anything criminal, so relax. If the furniture was defective, you should have notified them of the problems as soon as possible, and in writing. You may need to hire a lawyer to help sort this out, and to get their attention to fix the problem, otherwise they may continue to brush you off.
