slander
A previous employer,(and unfortunatly, in-law) is telling anyone that will listen that I am a theif and stole and embezzeled thousands of dollars from the family business. Didn't happen, I'm not worried but I am getting embarassed and agrivated by at least once a week hearing from friends and family of her continued ''slander'', what can I do to make this stop?

You could get an injunction and file a lawsuit for slander. Good chance of winning because you have been accused of a crime. If she has the money to pay you and your attorneys, go for it.
