under the UCMJ will conviction in a Summary Court Martial follow a person after they leave the Military.

Yes and no.

If you are not represented by a lawyer during the hearing it is NOT a conviction.

However, it does become a part of your military record which people might have access to under certain circumstances. It's treated the same as an Article 15. Also, the conviction may subject you to administrative separation for misconduct which could result in a "record" that might follow you.
