I receive SSDI and was recently laid off from my job due to the coronavirus situation. Can I receive unemployment as well? Should I apply for it?
Usually you are SSDI because you have established to the government that you are unable to work. However I understand that while on SSDI benefits you are allowed to work a limited number of hours. To get unemployment insurance benefits you have to establish that you are ready, willing and able to, and are presently seeking, full time work. The two government benefit programs are usually mutually exclusive - if you qualify for one you are disqualified from the other. Given the broad scope of unemployment insurance benefits right now, I am not sure that will be the case. If you do apply for UI benefits be very careful to fully disclose your receipt of the SSDI benefits. You do not want an accusation that you are fraudulently receiving a government payout.
Good luck to you.
In my opinion this is a question better answered by an employment lawyer. I have moved your question to that section.
Creating a New Credit File
My credit is messed up from a business gone bad. I heard it is possible to create an entirely new ''CPN'' credit file? that is separate from my ssn. Is this legal? How do you do it?
