I was recently sentenced to 2 weekends in jail and I was supposed to go in Friday but it slipped my mind because my mom was rushed to the hospital this past week & I literally was at the hospital with her all week & I just wasnt really thinking about it to be honest... my 2nd weekend is on the 27th tho so do you think I could call & explain my situation because I really didn't mean for this to happen.? It was a EMERGENCY & I was worried about my mom & honestly wasnt thinking about anything but her.. please help!
Normally, failure to appear for a weekend jail sentence will cause additional jail time to be added to your sentence, up to the length of your underlying sentence. Non-jail time penalties would likely also be enhanced. However, due to the COVID-19 issues in the jails, it is highly speculative to know what will happen in your particular case. I would hire an attorney to argue and represent your interests.

Rent With Option to Buy Agreement in Indiana and eviction:
I'm a landlord and want to sign a RENT WITH OPTION TO BUY AGREEMENT with a new renter so that in 2 years time that renter can enter a Purchase to Buy Agreement if he (the renter) decides to purchase my property. The renter would put a non-refundable deposit down for the option to buy when the RENT WITH OPTION TO BUY AGREEMENT is originally signed plus the renter would pay the 1st rental payment rent and damage deposit (each on separate cashier's checks or bank drafts).
If later during the tenancy the renter damages the property or stops paying rent completely, can I evict the tenant according to the usual Landlord Tenant Eviction Laws? Or would some other laws apply and what would they be?
