discrimination?

My grandchildren are constituently under scrutiney from everyone from the manager to the maintenance people at their apartment cmplex. Several other families, all minorities, get unduely harrassed. Especially those of ''mixed'' families. This has gotten totally out of control. My daughter wants to move but is under a lease until next year. What can they do?

Landlord accuses tentant !

I've leaved in my apartment now for three years. I am a 49 year old black man married to a Puerto rican wife with to teenage stepsons. I pay my rent on time usually a week before the dealine each mounth and we are law abiding tenants.

My landlord is Mexican, I say this because I have been asked to show proof of citizenship this year. Our landlord knows very well my wife and sons are puerto rican born which makes them U.S. citizens, and I was born in California, the office had all of that information

Recently my landlord called to inform me that I had two violations for leaving an used oil filter on the ground inside a carton box that fits my make and model truck. I replied neither my wife or I have ever changed oil at the apartment complex and that we have it changed at jiffy lube etc; My landlord didn't take my word for it

instead she threatened to fine me. I told her that their are many trucks that are the same make and model as mine. Finally I went to the office and she took copies of my receipt that showed that I had my oil changed at oil changers just a few day before her call.

What can I do or who may I contact?

Pregnancy discrimation

told that I need to schedule my ob doctor appt around company time or lose my job, my doctor recommended I go part time due to high risk in pregnancy (written documentation), told I cant and that I should find another job, number of important job responsibilties given to less experience person that I trained. Person who has been employee shorter time than me recieved a bigger bonus and does that same job I do, but less. was told that once i have my baby my position is not promised and as far as a rehire they will see where they are as a company. Am I being discrimated against????

neighbor calling the police

I live in a 4 plex apt complex on the top right side. i have 2 small children and work full time. My down stairs nieghbor is contantly calling the police on my children ages 1 and 3 for playing with there toys to loud. The ploice come out and say that the children are just being children and theres nothing they can doto stop them,but that she has a right to call if she thinks there to loud. I have been embarressed by all this and it is stressing me out. I work at a department store and get off tired ,im in bed with the children by 9:30pm what can i do about this

Goverment offical dicriminates jung homeless man

i witnessd a homeless man get discriminated and insulted because he is homeless and is living in a tent.he was insulted as a person, his intellegance was degrated and some of his belongings were willfully damaged.because of the intire incedent his injury flarred up and he was in pain and destress all night because he did not have any way to call medical assitance for treatment (military injury as i seen in paperwork that he showed me after the accurance) as i have seen it he is at no fault and yet he recaved a citation for camping on state park property which has no ''no camping'' signs and there are 2 others that reside there. on top of all the verbal abuse and medical discomfort he had to endure.he was calm and polite during the entire attack.

is there anything that this jung man would be able to do and how long does he have to do something?

Teacher discrimination

My contract was not renewed; admin gave no reason. Then I was told that it was budget cuts. Turns out I was replaced by a younger, less experienced teacher who cannot administer assessments (huge bulk of my job) and is white (caucasian). I am hispanic, multilingual, w/ masters in ed, twice as many yrs of exp and clean record w/ school. Do I have a case?

Mobile Home Association's Rights

I have a mobile home for sale in a 55 and older park. I have a buyer who is disabled and in a wheelchair who will--name removed--55 in five months. The buyer's park is closing and she has nowhere else to go and must move within 30 days. Can my park refuse to allow me to sell my home to this buyer purely based up the age restriction as I would love to sell this home in a very tough market.

Shoplifting with excessive force

I was caught shoplifting.

I am not proud of what I did, but I have not eaten in days.

The manager at the store used extreme force with me.

I even stated I had a disability and he said I will permantly disable you.

Do I have any rights?

I own a building and operate a metaphysical bookstore out of it. Considering selling, I called a realtor who came, looked around and said that, based on his religion, he was uncomfortable. He asked if he could leave. Is that not religious discrimination?

Company Closing/Downsizing

I am HR Director for a company that may be closing one of its offices in the NJ area. The office that may be closing is in the Princeton area. We would relocate people to one of our offices in the Parsippany area (under 50 miles away). If an employee declined to accept a job at one of those locations, could we deem that a resignation? In other words, are we legally required to offer severace packages to those employees who were given the option to relocate?

My employer violated my privacy, then fired me!

OK, heres what happened. There was a picture of me and a coworker taken at work. We were being silly, but not too out of line. When I got home, I emailed her the picture from my personal email address to her personal email address. This happened in March. Well, on Thursday, I got a phone from my employer saying I had been suspended. No explanation or anything! I have worked there for over two years. I have never had any complaints, I have never been written up, no med errors, no coworker complaints, and no problems at all with attendence. I had to wait all weekend and an Monday they called me in for a meeting. They had a copy of this picture that was taken back in March! And told me I was still suspended. Is this legal? I have no idea how they obtained this photo. It was never posted on the internet or anything like that. The only way they could have gotten it was by hacking into my personal email or my friend/ coworker that I emailed it to. My employer called me back in on Wednesday and told me they were firing me! So, my question is: should I contact a lawyer? Isn't it illegal for them to access my ''personal'' email account? This picture wasn't even sent while at work. I sent it from my home computer

Injured and discriminated against.

Reported 3 injuries in course of 4 years, the last injury I was admitted to E.R .and out for 1 month. employer never ever offered medical assistance whats so ever. as it provides medical benefits to ONLY Resident Managers ONLY. Also when supervisor sprained ankle,he received all the proper medical assistance as transportation provided by the manager. I continued working thru my injuries and the extreme pain as I daily complained to employer. Currently iam still hurting of extreme pain on lower right side of back.I was promised rent free living and pay raises but when employer hired new employee, employer told me that I was no longer going to receive the rent free and pay raises as they promised after all. So when i requested for a 30 day leave due to my fathers health they granted my request but only to get discharged for non payment of rent upon my return from my leave.My rent had always been paid as manager allowed for rent to be paid in payments or in full for the employees that paid rent and if you employee was white then you get rent free but regardless, my rent was always paid and she never had problem with it. It all began because i found out about workers comp and tried to pursue it as they never offered anything.

Sick leave use held against employee

I and others (dozens) denied competition to promote to supervision because of new implementation by County government management of a sick leave usage criterion. Any day of legitimate sick leave used over 8 per year is counted as a point against going forward in the competitive process. How can my legitimate illness or injury be held against me as regards promotion when in every other way I am qualified? Also discriminatory is that employees with ill family members that require their care are penalized for that sick leave use when employees without relatives needing care aren't.

Not only discriminatory for these two reasons, but also it's bad policy because it entices employees to lie about being sick and driving a public transit bus while too sick to be safe. It ought to be prohibited but I can't find any statue regulating this. Can you help with info? Thanks.
