Our neighbors are longshoremen, the use their house as a party house holding loud drunken late-night parties multiple times a week. This has gone on for years. The local police no longer respond to noise complaints from our neighborhood. Also the parties are large - 30 or so people, which is against COVID-19 quarantine recommendations here in LA County. They are probably armed. They are aggressive and large. I do not feel safe confronting them or writing to them.
What are my options since the police do not care:
1. Civil litigation - what would I sue them for?
2. County Health?
3. Other?
Noise is sometimes addressed as "nuisance," and you can sue if you're willing to hire a lawyer or do the (somewhat complex) legal work yourself.
But a problem with a judicial solution right now is that the courts are closed for everything but emergency proceedings, and you can't claim that when this has been going on for years.
I received a "Subpoena Duces Tecum for Deposition" signed by the law firm which is representing
the plaintiff in a case against me for money owed. Am I required to appear for this deposition?
What are the limitations of an estate executor? My sister is the executor of our faily estate (farm ground). She is willing to sell the property to my brother even though I have offered more money. I have the money in cash to purchase the farm immediately . She,the executor, refuses to talk to me even after numerous emails and calls. There are also numerous offers for more than me or my brother can match she refuses to meet with them.
What if any options do I have.
