I was sexually assaulted in the Anaheim area this year. It resulted in me going to planned parenthood, which unbeknownst to me led to the police coming in to the room I was in with an iv in me and everything. A report was made, and I got a letter recently from the Chief of Police. I’m told to call immediately. I really want to move on from this incident, I’m finally moving on past other traumas and am moving on. I didn’t want to make a report. Can I do anything to stop it? I know it seems silly that I don’t want a report. But after years of illness I’m finally starting back in college (I am 25) and I want to move on. Please help.
Edit: This was a stranger. I was in public, alone.
You never need to give a statement to police. Politely decline. The police are only doing their job; they want rapists off the streets and don't want anybody else hurt. If the police continue then call a lawyer. Best of luck.
