As stated above, I have recently been charged "service fee's" from a DUI that happened almost 3 years ago. I received what I like to call a "warning" letter in the mail about 2 weeks prior to receiving the actual bill. The bill states the officers were never paid for their "services" the night of my DUI. I'm having an extremely hard time believing that after 3 years, these officers never got a check in the mail for their "services." Is this legal? My lawyer is looking into it right now, but I figure what's the hurt in asking around. This seems really sketchy.
Speak to your attorney. More info is needed. Typically, there are fees and costs involved after a DUI. All of that should of been explained to you when you reached a disposition at your DUI arraignment.
