I was completely functional prior to a torn meniscus in October 2019. Had a normal X-ray in the ER, followed by an ortho appointment, MRI, then surgery to ”remove the torn edges” of the medial meniscus. In February I was still having considerable pain and swelling, a 2nd MRI revealed bone marrow edema above and below the knee. Ortho now states my knee is bone on bone and arthritic and wants to do a knee replacement. I had no problems with arthritis in my knee prior to his surgery. Now, 6 months since the surgery, I still have 9/10 pain in my knee with swelling, walk with a cane and have a handicap sticker in my car. Ortho has released me and continues to state I need a knee replacement. I think he may have taken too much meniscus and/or cartilage causing me to be bone on bone which probably caused the bone marrow edema. This has all caused me to walk with a cane taking pressure off the left knee but causing pain in my right foot for taking too much force with ambulation. Please help
I'm sorry for your ordeal with your pain. A North Carolina attorney should advise you, but your post remains open for three weeks. It isn't fully clear what the question is, but it looks like you suspect something was done wrong in your medical care.
