Can a medical facility deny treatment based on an anonymous accusation of substance abuse? Recently I sought treatment at my doctors clinic from an after hours service called 'express care'. I've seen express care doctors in the past, and while unpleasant, they are still nice to see during an asthma attack. While I was suffering from an asthma attack on this occasion, the nurses told me that I can't be seen, when I explained that I was currently having an asthma attack, they told me that it's ok to refuse anyone at any time for any reason. Their words, not mine. I went to the e.r. At the hospital across town (same corporation), they told me after almost 2 hours there during an asthma attack that I can't be treated because they received 'an anonymous call' alerting them that I 'like to abuse' my medications and therefore do not need to be treated. Needless to say I felt a lot of emotions including a great deal of anger and confusion. I believe I know who called the tip in to them, although have no evidence to support my suspicions. What I would like to know is this; can a medical facility legally turn me away based on an anonymous accusation, and what recourse do I have? Do I have Any rights in this instance? Can I press charges against this accuser, and naturally, do I have the right to the identity of the accuser?

Thank you all for your replies. Now this arbitrator is from the essex county court. he's been divorced for 2 years granted for irreconcilible diff. How can an arbitrator base this on an adultery law that I never heard of. he and I both could face six months in jail if he doesn't go to these classes. This wasn't a judge's ruling. Who can I go to with this? He is already divorced so I don't think I need a divorce lawyer for this.

I am asking this question on behalf of a 6 year old child whose mom is going through a difficult time. Her husband died and in the will he left the house for the six year old child. The Insurances was left between the aunt and the child's mother. In the will no financial contribution was made for the child. Can the mother contest the will based on the Inheritance Act 1975 Provisions. The husband also left a codicil, starting his intentions for his daughter, but I think it was not worded proerly, but his intention was clear. The aunt is fighting for half of everything. Please help this six year old.

I was referred to an attorney through a referral service from my employer. As a customer of this referral service I was to get 25% off of my hourly rate from the attorney. After all the billing and payments were made and case concluded. I realized that I did not receive the 25% discount off my billing. I brought this to my attorneys attention, and my attorney realized that not only was I not given my 25% off. My Attorney realized that all my invoices were billed incorrectly due to a problem in there billing systems. My attorney then re did my entire bill (which resulted in much higher fees), deducted 25% off of the new amount, and is attempting to give me a refund. Is this an ethical practice? Would fee arbitration be a waste of time?

We live in a townhome community. Our neighbor of roughly 20 years has a set of large wind chimes hanging in a tree which is in front of our houses. On windy (even mildly breezy) days/ nights, the chimes clang loudly and incessantly. We've asked several times to have him remove or relocate them as it prevents us from getting any sleep on such evenings. He has yet to make any gestures in regards to our pleas. Do we have any legal course available to request a cease and desist? I've considered calling the police on nights when the noise is excessive, but thought that was, in itself, excessive. thanks

Someone asked me to stay with their children for the weekend. I cancelled all of my commitments for the weekend. I went over to their place the day before to meet with the Mother and finalize all the details. She called me the next day and said as they were leaving for the airport their old sitter called and she and her husband decided to ask her to stay the weekend so she cancelled me for no reason. They were to pay me $600.00 for staying the entire weekend with their children and "shuttling" them to various activities. Are they legally responsible to pay me for all or part of the weekend for cancelling me at the very last minute?
