Sexual Harassment in a Creative Workplace

I work in HR at a design studio. Within the design team there needs to be a free flow of ideas. Unfortunately, often times these ideas break the rules of what is considered sexual harassment, especially the clause on visual harassment. What is the best method to protect the company while maintaining the current status quo? Can employees contractually waive their sexual harassment rights?

landlord sexual harassment

I was told that there was leaking from my bathroom to the unit under me. i scheduled an appointment for him to send a plumber but, ironically the pumberhad an emergency and couldnt make it.So he came attempting o fix it. He nevr scheduled for the tenent beneath me to be home so wasnt able to thoroughly address the problem being that the leak was in his apartment. i mentioned i was working out to lose weight for an audition and he then began to touch my body and fondle with my legs and butt. also asking me to take my pants down so he could see. i wrote him a letter explaining how uncomfortable i was including the next months rent as well. The leaking problem was never solved and the day after i sent him the letter explaining how uncomfortable i was i recieved i letter stating i had to move out in 30 days. would this be something to pursue in a law suit?

I had broken up with my girlfriend yet still occassionally text msg. We argue and the texts become demeaning and very heated. She has been threatening me that she will call the police. I have never threatened to harm her in any way! I just belittle her as she does me. she called the police and filled out a restraining order for harrassment. What about my rights and free speech? Cant I contact her and she has the option to hang up or not respond to my text or call? I am not texting at a inreasonable time of day

For 2yrs I've worked at a bar. On Sat. nights the owners longtime friend acts as security. I'm required to pay him $50 out of my register (logged as payout on worksheet). He's a single man who flirts with every woman that comes in. Always demands hugs. 2 wks ago I was leaning over the well(area drinks are made) to reach a customers glass, leaving me vulnerable. He comes behind the bar & with both hands grabs each side of my butt along with my private area. I jumped & turned around asking ''What do you think you're doing? That's was way out of line. Do not ever do that again.'' He laughed & asked if I was going to file sexual harassment because if so, he wouldn't deny it. Told me to grab the phone & call right now. He laughs more making this a funny joke entertaining the customers watching. I told my boss 2 days later. She got upset & said ''He cant do that, it is Sexual Harassment''. That Sat. at work he kept messing with me. I was busy & he was getting in my way. Then told me off when I asked him to leave. 2days later he leaves msg on my cell. Accusing me of false things. Last night a customer complained that he repeatedly touches her breast & crotch area. Ignoring her demands to stop. My boss says either I quit or resolve with him.

I was touched inappropriately at work approximately 2 1/2 months ago. I immediately reported it to my Sargeant, and it was taken to our EEO officer. I have not heard of any punishment for him, but I do know that several other women have come forward since me about this male officer. The last 2 1/2 months of my job have been hell on me. I am being retaliated ahgainst and when I tell my Sgts. Nothing gets done. I am currently 5 months pregant and have been put on special medication to keep down food because of stress and have been put on antideppressant meds. I would like to seek the help of an attorney, but I am not sure what kind to go. I have documented every instance of retaliation. I don't have a lot of money, but I know what they are doing to me is wrong. What can I do and what kind of Attorney do I need?

Lawyer prepared EEOC and Notice of Claim without my consent.

My contract with the attorney clearly states that she would negotiate a settlement, but in the event the negotiations fell through, she would then, and only then, take the necessary steps to file in court. She failed to negotiate. When she repeatedly ignored my attempts at communication with her, I did my own negotiating with my employer to a mutually beneficial agreement. I then attempted to get my $3,500 retainer back. After four months of asking for an itemization and finally threatening to go to the NY State Bar Association if she did not send me an itemization, she finally gave me the itemization. To my horror, I found she had spent a great deal of time filling out an EEOC and a Notice of Claim only two weeks after signing the retainer agreement. I never gave her permission to do this. I signed an agreement clearly stating that she was to negotiate. Clearly, she had no intention of negotiating if she had the filing papers prepared two and a half months in advance of the deadline. I had no intentions of going to court. I hired her to negotiate. Am I responsible to pay for work I never authorized? I am going to fee arbitration, and as a non-attorney I am terrified, since I do not know what my rights are. Please advise.

I have filed a personal protection order against my neighbor and he is now taking me to court to have it removed. He is also seeking compenstion for his attorneys fees and costs to defend the order. What is the best way to handle this.

harrasment/discrimination at work

i was harassed at work by a doctor in jan.2006. I failed to make a formal complaint thinking my boss would handle the situation and I can forget about it. I verbally agreed not to press charges they told me if i did the Dr. can lose his license. Since then I've lost hours at work and I was not allowed to go back to one of the companies location because this person worked there. Now almost a year later they want me to go back to this location or I lose the few hours of work i have left with this company. When i asked why they are allowing me to go now, my supervisor said I wouldn't be working in the Emergency room which is where the Dr. works. I don't feel safe going back to this place but i also don't want to lose my hours. I have expressed my anger and concern with my supervisor but he just puts his head down and doesn't say much. Is there anything I can do about this situation?

i work in GA but am in CA now for a project. i live with my boss and another co worker.
