Sexual Explicit Text Messaging by a Minor
What are the laws against minors who send sexually explicit text messages to another minor. In this case it's a 15 year old boy sending messages to a 10 year girl.
Re: Sexual Explicit Text Messaging by a Minor
Juveniles are generally covered by the same laws as are adults. The difference is that juveniles are charged as "delinquents" while adults are charges as criminals. Juvenile proceedings are generally closed to the public.
The circumstance that you describe could violate a number of laws such as "accosting a person of the opposite sex," "unlawful dissemination of obscene material," "criminal harassment" and many other laws. The police, the boy's parents and the Department of Social Services (DSS) should be alerted in order to get the 15 year old help and to ensure that he is on their radar as a potential pedophile. DSS could assess whether boy is behaving in this way due to sexual abuse in his own home or elsewhere.
