You might have heard that abuse of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) is a big problem in California. It is true. In fact, there were over 2,500 ADA lawsuits filed in California federal courts against business owners and property owners in 2016 alone.
Company seems to be running a scam
Ipowerweb is my hosting company. For the past 5 years I have had more problems with them that I care to mention. Most recently when I called because I was not receiving emails, their employee instructed me to do a procedure to ''fix it''. What he failed to mention was that this would erase all emails I've sent or received for the past 5 years from my computer. I've had to spent $500 attempting to retrieve the info, and haven't been able to. I have tried for 20 hours on the phone to talk to a supervisor and each time I go through the story I'm told by an employee they will transfer me, and then they disconnect me. 5 times in one day last saturday this happened. WHAT CAN I DO? It makes me so mad that a company can avoid any responsibility. This is only the most recent in a string of nightmarish experiences that have cost me not only extraordinary amounts of time and money, but my sanity as well. I broke down crying last week when after 7 hours of phone calls, the final person promised to call me back if we ''got disconnected'' and then never did, of course. How do I get reimbursed for my $500 spent (AT LEAST) trying to fix their error? I have no money to spend on lawyers, unfortunately, or I would sue them in a second.
ending spousal support in california
I am nearing the end of my obligation to pay spousal support by about 1 1/2 months. The court has a earnings assignment order (fl-435) which was sent to my employer so payroll deduction is how they are getting 2/3 of the support. I am paying the other 1/3 on a monthly basis. The FL-435 doesn't stipulate an end date or amount total for the support. This is in a seperate court document. How would I go about stopping the payroll deductions without overpaying my ex-spouse?
