I hired a neighbor to work for me and after working for 6 months He went to work for a compeditor. I asked him to sign an independant sales contract but he kept putting it off as well as adding things like 401 k and severance pay. Which I told him to take out. He never signed it and therfore we are left with a verbal contract. I paid him $4000 a month 5 months and now he is wanting me to pay him for the last month ..... Per our "contract" he didn't complete all the work
, I had to have someone else compete it, which I paid. He has hired an attoney and is sueing me for $4000 am I liable to pay in your oppion?
I have a credit card that is in my name and my husbands name is on the bill also, each of us have been served a summons paper on the account, it has been sent to a law firm now and we have a court date.
I was wandering if the creditors can garnish my husbands wages since his name is on the bill also. I don't remember when i got the card if my husbands name was a joint owner, but i know that he could use the card since he had one in his name also
