wills
My father is dying and lives in Florida. Legally will our stepmother or attorney have to notify us when the will is read? There are three of us biological children and her 3 children that are not my fathers. They are being very closed mouthed about anything to do with his financial affairs and while we visited they did not leave us alone with him.
Pension Payout
I recently found out that I have a pension plan through a company that I was with for 8 yrs. I then contacted this company regarding a payout and they told me that since the amount is over 5000 I cannot take a payout. I would like to know if I can be denied the option of taking a payout? I was told by the head of the human resources dept. that the plan is simply designed that way, and if the value was less than 5000 I could take a payout. Is this legal? I thought I could take it with penalty at the least. Thank you.
Parent's will
My Mother died and left everything to my step-father until he passes, then all monies are to be distributed between my Mom's 3 children & his 3 children. While caring for our Mother at home (hospice care), my brother's & I found that he was having an affair. We no longer have a relationship with the step-father. Is there a way to see my Mom's will? He is about to marry the ''other woman'' Can he change the will? My younger brother is very upset & asked that I inquire. Thank you. I appreciate your time. V
fmla
Do you need a doctors note every time your off for the reason stated in fmla?
Follow-up to my two prior questions.
According to the answer I received to my most recent question,
''It is not illegal for an employer to have a policy which prohibits employees from disclosing wage information.
''Most employers have some form of a policy advising employees not to share what they earn. It is just a term of the ''at-will'' employement agreement.''
So if I understand correctly, it is ILLEGAL for a corporation to prohibit employees from sharing wage and salary information (according to the National Labor Relations Board), but it is LEGAL for that corporation to create a POLICY that forbids sharing that information.
Does that make any sense to anyone?
It seems that the ''at-will'' employment agreement gives corporations the ability to ignore any and all laws applicable to employee rights then.
Correct?
