Abstract of Judgement
I recieved in the mail a certified copy of a recorded Abstract of Judgment against me for the amount of $5,029. Does this mean I have a judgment lien recorded against my real property or just on my name only? I am unemployeed right now & have very little money but I have been trying to pay the Abtstract Creditor monthly installments which I informed her I would do until I get a job again and can pay her off in full, but she refuses to cash my checks & returns them back to me stating she wants all the money now and will not accept my installments. Is it possible for me to go to court and request a monthly payment plan while I am unemployeed? Is there some reason I am unaware of that she is refusing to accept monthly payments?

If a judgment is recorded, it automatically becomes a lien against your real property.
The judgment creditor is probably not accepting your check(s) because it's too much paperwork to account for each payment and there's a possibility your personal checks will be dishonored by the bank.
The judgment creditor would probably rather levy against your bank account and/or wages (once you are re-employed), or take your money in a lump sum.
