former job, reference checks
I'm up for a promotion at my current employer, and they did a reference check with my former empolyer who is supposed to give any refence checkers the home office number,which is a written policy, but instead, my former boss gave the refence check, and it wasn't very good. Can I do anything about this?

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done unless you can show that this was done intentionally to hurt you.
